PD T2 Cobra - Pad Replacements

My LBS recently installed the Profile Design T2 Carbon aerobars on my bike. These are the stock pads. I am looking for a sleeker, thinner option that will let me get just that much lower in front. The head tech has the same bars and is thinking about perusing Lowes for a thin padding to super glue onto the arm rest frame. Sound like a good idea? If you have the bars, and have replaced the arm rests, what have you used? Thanks.

I am having the same issue. I don’t like those weird shaped pads or the arm rests and I’m trying to see if I can change out the the arm rests and pads with something like what in on the Oval Concepts. I’ve been told that the PD Cobras have unique 2-horizontal-bolt pattern that makes them incompatible with the Oval arm rests.

I think I’m just gonna cough up the change and get some integrated Hed bars with much lower arm rests and minimal pads.

Good luck. If you do find something compatible, let me know before I plunk down $650!

To those who have installed the s-bends below the base bar, where did you find screws long enough to pass through all the risers? I run the VT alloy base bar, if it matters. Would a hardware store have long bolts compatable with a hexagonal/allen wrench? Is there any problem with having the arm rests flush on the rear of the base bar (knee hitting, handling, etc…)??

You can buy the Blackwell Research arm cups separate from the clip-ons. They have a little more adjustability than the profile ones.

Home Depot has the bolts but not the allan wrench type up top, so you’d have to order these:

And then buy a pair of these:

Cee Gees are sold at all Ironman events so you could pick up a pair there as well. The pads are a bit bulky but very comfortable. Some have complained about the aerobar armrest angle when bolted from underneath but the Cee Gees take care of that.

Has anyone tried this?

This looks like a clean, easy solution. I assume PD specifically created this package to let you attach their s-bends under the base bar and have the arm rests directly on top of the base bar.
