I know the patron saint of cyclists is Madonna del Ghisallo, but who should be the patron saint of triathlon, is there one for running or swimming?
For Tri it should be Tom D. All good, All knowing and the current celibacy thing are all playing into his favor.

There’s a lot of Tom worship on this forum, but this takes the cake.
Flattering but ridiculous. I’m no saint. I vote for Empfield.
naw, im talking like which canonized saint should be taken up as the patron saint of triathlon, like Ghisallo was for cycling. One of the reasons Ghisallo is the patron saint of cyclists is because there was a shrine to this saint at the top of a really famous climb in italy, and the cyclists use to pray and rest there after they finished the climb (or so the story goes). Is there any saint whose story is such that they should be the patron saint of triathlon?

San Diego???
San Sebastian is the patron saint of all athletes (as well as … hardware stores). There is no Saint specifically assigned to running. St. Adjutor is the patron of swimming.
**St. Adjutor: **Lord of Vernon-sur-Seine. Norman knight in the First Crusade in 1095 during which he was captured by Muslims who tried to force him to abandon his faith. He escaped, apparently swimming to freedom, returned to France and became a Benedictine monk at Tiron, France. Hermit in his later years.
Other Nominees: St. Jude - hopeless causes (a personal favorite); St. Arnold - beer; St. Anthony of Padua - obsessed people; St. Dymphna - various coo-coo people
Tibbs, are you the fallen angel? Randymar, thanks for the lesson. I vote for St. Arnold. And what about John Collins?

That would fall under the jurisdiction of St. Michael - sailors, mariners, watermen, and (interestingly) EMTs … wasn’t Tinley an EMT???
BTW: All reference from the Patron Saints Index
Ask the Wildflower RD, he must know…
