had the orig version and loved it. make the mistake of updating it. i have a stereo in my jeep that i can plug into it with a usb cable. i can run my ipod/phone via the stereo head or play pandora through it. well with the new update i don’t have volume control. is this a way for them to get me to buy the service? i’m not opposed to it i just want to know before i pay the $$$.
i’ve looked for a faq page re:pandora’s os but no luck yet.

I use the bluetooth connection in my car and that may be different than your USB setup… with that said, in both the old and the new version, when in my car, volume adjustment is not on the phone itself, but rather on the head unit, as low voltage signals are better to send and let the amplification come from the car. Can you not just turn the knob on your jeep?

spot, yeah, bluetooth v. usb, wireless v. hardwired. my radio didn’t come with bluetooth included i would have had to spend like another $150 for an adapter to bluetooth. i was happy with the usb for that much. and before the update i could use both the radio knob and the volume control on the phone.(for pandora only. using the ipod it’s the radio only) now, on the phone it says at the bottom of the screen ‘no volume available’. and the vol control on the radio does nothing either. i was pretty darn surprised when it took the jeep vol control out of the loop.

Are you sure this is a Pandora thing? I haven’t seen major changes for a while. I know when using some interfaces, the iPhone/iPod Touch doesn’t allow volume control. This is the case with my iPod Touch and my bluetooth headphones. Can you control volume from the iphone with itunes connected to your stereo?

update: i deleted it off my iphone and reinstalled it and it works fine. thanks for the help. new vs. old version, the old i think i could control volume from both the phone and jeep stereo, the new version is jeep stereo only. don’t care where it’s controlled as long as i can.

perhaps you already figured this out, if so ignore. if not, here; you can give a thumbs up or down for stuff you do and don’t like. that will help tailor the station to what ya’ like. you can also add other specific artist onto that station, so if you alison and emmy lou you can get a blend of the two. i don’t know how to do it on the phone, but if you’re using a computer it’s pretty east to figure out.

I paid the 20 bucks or whatever it was a while ago and I stream Pandora through my iPhone all day at work and then just plug it in with the adapter cable into my car. No commercials and I can listen to whatever genre fits my need.
Pandora is the best app out there.
