Any of you guys have experience with either the Gulf Crest or the Summit condos in PCB? They are close to the race venue, so they work locationwise. And their price for GCT is perfect… Anyone stayed at either?
They’re both about 10 zillion years old. That said, anything on Thomas Drive should be ok for location/price. E bldg @ Dunes of Panama is my favorite, but biased as I own one there 
I’ve stayed at Gulf Crest 4 or 5 times, but not since 2007. I suppose it’s 8 -10 years old by now. Never any issues. About a 0.6 mile walk to transition. Very nice accommodations in every way.

Both of those are great, especially for the money. I’ve stayed in both numerous times, and while not new, they offer stunning views, a kitchen, and everything you would need. Much better IMO than most venues where you just get a room and still have to eat out all the time. The eateries in PCB are pretty terrible. Also, go to the Publix if you are grocery shopping, as the Walmart is pretty lousy for food.
I’ve stayed at Summit and Top of the Gulf, definitely recommend the Summit.
I saw right away from the price of “top of the gulf” that I wanted to avoid that one… I am one of those “not the cheapest”, and “not the most expensive” type guys! Gulf crest charges a little more than the Summit, but it appears that you aren’t getting too much more bang for your bucks. I appreciate the feedback!
STayed at the summit a number of times. Depends on the owner. Edgewater is great if you can get in there.
I’ve stayed at the Summit a number of times. It does depend on the owner. Try looking for Summit units on VRBO.Com. Usually those owners take pretty good care of their places.
I love VRBO. I always do it… Last year we did Savannaha, Blue Ridge Mountains, and Texas Hill country. All were good experiences.
Wifey and I would eventually like to meet another few couples that we could work out house swaps for vacations. (We live 45 minutes from Clermont and 40 from Disney)… That would be even better than VRBO!
Have not stayed at either for a while- but last year and this year we will be staying here- great prices and wonderful rooms.

X2 for Shores of Panama… stayed there in 2007, was very pleased…
Summit was great! Views of the ocean/full kitchen…loved the place and only like 90ish a night…Plus you can walk to start…need i say more?!
I rent a condo for a month at a motel on Surf Drive ( 11th year coming up ) …Just around the 1 mile mark on the run course…great place to stay so that you can have your treats, when you go by 4 times… Prices are reasonable.
Okay it’s not next door to the race, but, it’s nice to be just away from all the hoopla…
