Panama 70.3 - Power File / Course Feedback?

Thinking of doing this race in early Feb. Based on bike chart, looks like 1,350 feet of gain over 56 miles. Anyone have a power file? Anyone do this race earlier this year?

Looks like just under 1900ft based on:

I am thinking about it too and from what I have heard the bike is challenging and heat/humidity is a factor on the run.

It is very hot, humid, and windy. But a great course!

Yea, I’m looking for an early season training race that is similar to IMTX. Figured it would be a good one. Still would like to see some power files. The bike course looks tough.

EDIT: Is a H3/Disc combo stable enough for that course? I’m a bit worried about the two steep downhills and crosswinds.

I am going with a Zipp disc and Zipp 404 FC front - same set up as St. Croix (which has over 1k more ft of elevation than Panama and is windy).

IMO - you will be fine with the Hed/Disc combo.

My girlfriend said she felt like she was going to be blown off her bike at times…with just regular road wheels. So I guess it depends on how comfortable you are hunkering down and leaning into the gusts…

Yea, the one thing I noticed is that several of the top male pros went disc, but really shallow front. Only Lance ran something over 60mm. Lieto ran a 40mm front. I’m wondering if a C2 Jet 60 or H3 would be better.
