Did anyone else see the police crime scene about halfway up Palomar yesterday morning? I was riding up before the stage and saw a pickup truck that was blocked off wth yellow police tape. Some guy on the side of the road said the truck had a dead body inside. I thought he was joking. But when I rode back down a while later there were several squad cars and what looked to be a white medical examiner’s van. Crazy.
Yes we saw the scene as well. By the time we got there the truck had been towed and there was a body bag in plain view. I have no idea what happened but it was disturbing to say the least.
not sure if it was related, but the VS coverage did air a clip of a squad car with its lights on passing the peleton on its way up Palomar.
I heard from a couple of friends who were there that it was a suicide by gunshot.
I hope it wasn’t the big hair guy, I’d miss him…
