Pairing Garmin Edge 500 and Vector pedals

Is this possible? I realize Garmin is no longer supporting Edge 500 but I’d like to see if there is a hack to pair it with my Garmin Vector power pedals. I’ve tried this so far - it will not “register” the pedals in the “search” function but it give me power readings as I ride. Wondering if anyone else has a method to pair them?

Hey! I’ve heard of others having a hard time but personally edge 500 and Garmin vector 3s have paired. I’ve had two, last one was last month. Just go to power meters and search there. Be sure to turn crank couple times and should see a light on the pedals. You can try connecting to Garmin Connect first too.

Another common issue could just be the battery contact point on the left pedal (assuming it’s just one sided power). It’s known to be finicky, and you have to be careful to just hand tighten until you can’t see the rubber band. Don’t over tighten as it could strip the spindle inside and that’ll create issues with the battery not contacting properly. Should this happen there is a cheap small parts kit on their website that should help. But I’d just removed the battery lid and check the two metal contact points. Line it up with the two corresponding medal points in pedal body and screw the battery cap back on. May take a couple tries but hopefully you get good contact.

Maybe also try connecting the edge to your comp and do a software upgrade, not sure it’ll help but worth a try.

Good luck!

Thanks! I did not know this about the battery cover tightening - good info!

My 510 corrupted a few weeks ago, (it worked with my vector 3 pedals). I had to replace it with a 530
