So I bought a yellow felt B2R and while I really do like it, I’m getting a bit tired of the color. Anyone know if Felt will repaint a bike for me? Any other options? Just want a stealth, flat black…
PM username: mattvrick on here (his name is Matt). He’s a buddy of mine who just did two similar projects.
1-He took his Cervelo P3, stripped the paint, and just sold it as flat black (bare carbon fiber) w/out being painted. He used a product called carbolift. Here was his FS listing in the classifieds
2-He just bought a 2011 DA, and had a guy in North County San Diego strip the paint and then paint it flat black. I built it mostly back up for him and it will look bad-ass when it’s back on the roads! Not sure if the guy was a surfboard guy or a car painting guy, but I’m sure you would have the latter in your area who could do the work.
Best of luck.

Click on the “Home” tab and scroll down till you see the Felt DA in Stealth mode that I had him do. Turned out beautiful and as soon as I get it fully built up, I’ll post more detailed pictures for everyone to lust over. ![]()
Note: He also did my components (i.e. basebar, crank, etc.)…and while he takes a longer time to complete his work (he works out of his home), I was really impressed.
Let me know if you have any questions…
not sure about felt but I will. PM me.
some of my flat clear

I knew you’d sniff out this thread!!! BTW, free all Thanksgiving break including CDO duty in Sat 11/26 in case there’s more work to be done.
How much did he charge for the Felt? That’s exactly what I want to do…

Hey don’t mean to hijack this thread but I have been thinking about painting my B2R as well but I wanted to start small and paint my basebar and aerobars maybe but I was not sure how to do it. The base bar is the aluminum Vision bar. Do I just need to sand it down then paint whatever color I want? Thanks.
His pricing structure for the repainting of the carbon frames starts at $300, depending on the complexity of extra artwork, logos, etc. add a few dollars more. I had a simple one color with one set of graphics. Keep in mind that he sands down the frames by hand and takes longer to do his work due to this being a hobby he does out of his garage. I am also local (San Diego), so no shipping involved…I’d imagine if you paid shipping costs, he could work with you (very nice guy, both he and his wife).
