Hi guys, has anybody ever had pain in the pubic area whilst in aero position, haven’t been able to do a race longer than a sprint because of a stabbing pain in the aero position that I get in my pubic/groin area and cannot find any info on it anywhere online
.
with that little info youre sharing, go get a bike fit.
I have had a professional bike fit but it is only an issue when I am in a race, I can ride on just my TT bike fine.
What kind of seat do you ride on? I have two ISM seats that seem to help a lot.

that makes zero sense.
I do think it could be either be my tri suit or the saddle, I have just been recommended the ism saddle from my coach so I may give this a look thank you

check out sport-fit lab dot com if youre going to start trying out saddles. you can rent before you buy to verify its right for you, then you get a little discount if you buy new from them. awesome service ive used a few times.
(no, im in no way affiliated or get anything for mentioning, i just dig their company and service).
Could be the Tri suit pad. As they are slimmer the seams can sit in completely the wrong place and make a saddle uncomfortable. If you train in cycling bibs you will also be effectively lowering the saddle height in the Tri suit, which could also alter how you interface with the saddle.
Very interesting! Thank you for that I didn’t consider that, I do train in bib shorts which may be the reason why
Have you tried the trisuit in training? I got a suit that felt great until I took it for a long ride and I found the torso was a wee bit short. Created a subtle pull down on my shoulders and by two hours in, I was in all sort of pain from trying to compensate.

This is my suggestion two although slightly odd it’s not the other way. I got my position on road bike in bib shorts, and tri shorts for the tri bike. Means pad thickness / shape was dialled in. I find it really uncomfy if I swap to ride the road bike in tri shorts or tri bike in bibs. Especially the latter as the added padding at the front of the bib adds pressure to the sausage, and ends up rotating my hips, and so more curve to spine.
But in your case then it suggests a straighter alignment that I guess is slightly associated with the psoas being stretched, but highly doubtful as running, standing, etc would all be more upright than the TT position.

Well, yes, I would start with identifying any differences between what/how you train and race in. The fact that you suit is wet in a race may also be a potential source of discomfort.
I have on the turbo but not out on the roads

The turbo trainer does not replicate the movement of outdoor riding. You move differently relative to the bike. This is true for a rigidly mounted bike, and it’s also true if you use a rocker plate or some other freedom of movement for the bike.
There may also be differences in your basic position between indoor and outdoor that you’re not aware of.
Don’t rely on the trainer to predict on road performance or comfort. Trainers are great, but different.
Thank you for letting me know! From what everyone has said I think it’s gonna be a case of trying my tri suit outdoors and if I get no pain it must be something to do with friction but if I do it might be something to do with the saddle or suit
