Pain Cave Upgrades? Suggestion Wanted

I’m looking for upgrades for my pain cave:
Fan suggestions / opinions on a quietish fan that pushes a decent amount of air volume
I usually do my during the week rides at night, and my wife is a sleep in the next room, so the fan can’t be too loud
I’m looking for a fan that I can put on the floor right in front of the bike
Others welcome

Current setup:
Wahoo Kickr39" Samsung TVLaptop driving the TV + used for TrainerRoad

.

What is the purpose of the platform? How did you build? To hide the wires?

Was thinking of maybe doing one also, but not sure where to start.

My guess is for the better viewing angle of the tv
.

you should probably get some more water bottles
.

A little less ghetto with the cables/power cords…you are in dire need of some cable management.

A pair of smallish Vornado fans at 11 and 1 o’clock.

I’ve got a Vornado model 630 on the floor and a ceiling fan overhead. Speed “2” on the Vornado is quiet and adequate for most rides. “3” is louder, but twice the power.

I’m not sure how you would do it with the nice bug window that you are next to, but I added a small shelf next to my bike so that I would use a wireless mouse to operate my computer (TR, Netflix, itunes, and yes, sometimes reading ST, but only between intervals!) without having to hop back off of the bike.

Caves don’t have windows. Board it up.

It’s a pain solarium.

Small adjacent table at arm height for water, coffee, bananas, phone, towel, tissues, mouse, remote.

Maybe??

I have one like this http://www.amazon.com/Lasko-3542-Cyclone-Remote-Control/dp/B001VE936Q/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hg_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=1GDWQMSSRE9QD3BGRF6A

I love the remote control. I start with it off, then ramp up the wind as I get hot. I’m in my garage so in the winter its cold when I start .

Nails in the bike shoes, and electrify your aluminum (hopefully) bars. As well as previously mentioned boarding of window. And none of this namby pamby trainer road, you need sufferfest. I forgot sufferfests pretty little slogan, so I sign of to bed with isneydkfjdoakcjdo.

I built the platform when I was renting, and the pain cave floor was carpet. It’s basically a 2x4 rectangle the size of the mat, with 3/4" plywood for the top. A friend helped me build it, and it’s a tank. It’s screwed together with outdoor deck screws, plus wood glue.

The Kickr is “bolted” in place with U-bolts, and I drilled holes to run the power cord and USB extension cable.

Agreed. That’s part of the upgrades once a figure out the fan / any other changes - like a stand for the laptop.

pretty cool. would you mind posting a close up the wiring, etc?

i think i want to build something like that for myself as well.

If you need a fan and for it to be quiet maybe several smaller ones.

One behind and two at the front on either side of you.

Or suggest your wife start running when you are doing your sessions.

You don’t want to be one of those skinny guys with the fat wife.

I use two Lasko tower fans pointed toward me at 45 degree angles. I like tower fans because they move air over my whole torso and it feels more natural. They are reasonably quiet too. Keeping your chain clean helps reduce noise as well.

You need something to prop up the front wheel.

Two fans minimum if you are really going to work out. I like this one:

Another vote for the Lasko Cyclone with the remote. Moves good air and not too loud on medium.
