Thoughts on fit and quality? Thanks…
They’re a team sponsor of ours. While I might not be thrilled by the color scheme choices the quality is excellent. We’ve had some durability problems with the tri kit, but the cycling kit is first class. Comfortable, breathable, and has lasted through some pretty hard use.
Excellent bike kit. Never had a piece that disappointed. Have 5 bibs and jerseys. Some are 5 years old.
Just picked up one of their new summit jerseys and I have to say I think the jerseys have taken a big jump up!
I will always say Pactimo bibs are the best I own simply due to the chamois. 120 mile rides and I never have a problem. I literally could stay in them all day.

Exactly this. Whatever the price, they’re worth that and more.

Sizing pretty reliable?
But, make sure you buy the Summit level bibs with the green chamois. The lower-end bibs are not nearly as nice.
Our team is also sponsored by Pactimo. They have a very warm winter jacket and vest. Aside from the Raptor bibs, those are probably my favorite pieces that they make.

Jersey sizing runs big compared to Rapha and Assos, so you might want to order a size smaller unless you like flapping jerseys. The bibs fit about the same.

There’s a pretty big sizing difference between the ascent and summit level jerseys though, at least in the 2016 models. We had a fit kit night at our team meeting, and the summit was MUCH tighter at the same size.
Another vote for the summit raptor bibs, they are amazing and worth the cost - can usually get them in nov/dec on clearance for less than $100 though.

Are you thinking of doing a customized team order or just their normal/standard selection?
That’s true. The summit speed jersey fits tighter (almost like a skinsuit).
I absolutely hate the bike kit. never have I needed so much chamois cream and not just on chamois. the seams and locations do not agree with me. I switched teams this year and one of the major reason was that I was not going to fork over any more money for this team kit. the jersey collars I have also(again this is cycling kit) suck for me as well, have to fold the collars over to not chaffe neck if I don’t want fully zipped
Which ‘level’ of kit?
We’re down in Rockford and found the lower level team apparel really sucks. I don’t think we’ll even explore custom Summit level when $220 for the customized Ascent bibs and jersey is already a touch steep. The most recent version of the Ascent bibs is better than the ones ~2 years ago though.
As a TT’er, did you have experience with their skinsuits?
Normal/standard, our team uses Giordana and Castelli but digging the Pactimo stuff as an addition.
So you have a team, but you’re not wanting to do (custom design) team clothing?
the cheaper stuff bites ass, literally. the green chamois stuff, while the chamois id not bad, its placement and the stitching of the garment do not work for me.
mine was the “scarlett fire” stuff, you have seen it in the Rockford area for sure. the skinsuits were horrible in sizing. got a size that should have worked based on jerseys, and it was way too large. wore it one time for a TTT to match team. the jerseys were fine other than the annoying collar. I cant recall the exact level of stuff, but I could not bring myself to buy it again. granted, I was probably the only one on the team that did not like it. I asked and they had at least one more year on it, so I bolted. lets just say I used other skinsuits for my TTs, always, except that one case. the LS skinsuit/speedsuit, I never even wore after trying on. I am fat and there was room for another 60-75 lbs of me
Agreed. I cheaped out on an order and now know the most current Continental level stuff is horrible. Cheap stitching and the chamois manages to find its way near my belly button. The newest Ascent bibs and jersey are decent. I’ll probably try the skinsuit for cx/tt’s this year now that they are included in the Pactimo Fit Kit they send out ahead of time.
I have definitely seen my share of Scarlet Fire kits around these parts. I usually stick to working the local TT’s because guys like you make me realize what a triathlete chump I am.
that’s nonsense, you compete against yourself, good or bad day.
You also need people to keep the pickup trucks roaming around Cherry Valley to keep from running you over
.
the potholes at CV are more likely to eat you whole
what recent year was it about 42deg and 20mph winds at CV?..that bit!
