I put my bike in the case to fly out in the morning. I had to remove the basebar from the stem and the clip-ons from the base bar. Seems like there must be a better way, but I couldn’t figure it out with the amount of extra cable I had going to the bars. Anything better for coming home would be great. Thanks
I remove the aerobar (easton attack) and lay it on the fork turned sideways.

Tom D has an excellent article on it. I found it most helpful when I was packing my bike earlier in the year.

Great article, though I never bother to remove my RD. I just use the string provided to pull it towards the frame.
I think the idea is that removing it allows you to better protect it from being bent. At a race I traveled to this year, my friend’s derailleur was bent because he didn’t remove it. Someone told me to remove mine just before I packed it and so mine was not.
One other thing I did on his suggestion was zip-tie the chain around the big ring up front (in a couple of places – to keep it on there) to protect the teeth and keep them from damaging anything else. Not sure how necessary that is but it seemed like a good idea
