Packable Battery Powered Presta Pump

Looking for a small, packable pump. Any good ones out there?

Key Features I’d like:
-Small
-Presta Fitting
-Battery operated
-Accurate pressure gauge.

Fumpa
.

Honestly very cool, but much more expensive and smaller than I was thinking.

Not looking for something to bring on a ride, just something that can store easy in the car or backpack

I bought this. I’ve used it once or twice and it seemed to work. There are a ton of similar things on Jeff Bezo’s garage sale site

Just get a presta adapter at your bike shop. I carry one anyways in case of emergency.

I use a variation of the same pump. Works great and I can bring it into transition without having to pack a huge bike pump. It also works on disc wheels without having to pack a crack pipe.

I have a Fumpa and a Xiaomi Portable Air Compressor.

The Fumpa is expensive, but awesome, the Xiaomi is cheap, but can only do up to 65 psi, so good enough for tubeless, but not much else.

Edit: Just checked … the Xiaomi can actually do up to 150PSI in one of the settings, so with the price, that’s a no-brainer, if it works (have only used for the car and Tubless).

I’ve been using this for the past 2 years, works great and easy to carry in a bag for T1. Presto adapter stays screwed on, just needs a drop of chain lube periodically to avoid removing valve cores when removing it from valves.

Edit: I’ve never had an issue going over 65psi, issues I regularly inflate my indoor bike tires to 100psi.

yep - mea culpa, apologies. 150psi seems the limit.

I was going to chime in on the Fumpa (love mine). But I also like the looks of this one. How does it work with a disc wheel?

I don’t know how this Ridgid pump works, I don’t own one, yet.

I do own Ridgid tools and have the battery that would work with the pump.

If you don’t already have the 18 volt battery, you have to factor that in with the total cost, plus a charger, so it can get pricey.

If you go this route, make sure the battery will qualify under Ridgid’s lifetime battery warranty. Usually the battery and charger comes in a bundle with a drill or other tool.

Looks like it’s $119 with battery and charger.

I have lots of Ridgid stuff which I like but went with Ryobi for their digital inflator (can even get an adaptor that allows you to use Ridgid batteries).

The Ryobi can set the psi you want and you just hit the start button and it will pump up to that level and then turn off. It’s awesome for doing other things to get ready to bike (fill bottles, mount computers and lights that you took off the charger).

It will pump a lot of tires even with a 2ah battery. I took it to my last Ironman in a transition bag and pumped up quite a few tires for people in my rack. Pumps up my presets disc wheel (because you can curve the tube easier than big fat presets heads with a lever release).

$55 at Home Depot right now if you already have a battery. There are frequently deals where you can get some batteries and chargers with a bundled tool for $60ish, or pick up from directtoolsoutlet.com…

An update, I went and bought the Ridgid portable pump. I’m very happy with it.

It comes with a 12v cord for your car so you don’t need a battery. It also has a few little attachments, presta adapter, needle for balls and a cone for other things…yoga balls.

The digital read out is large and you can set it to stop at preset pressures.

I’ve tried it on mtb and road tires and it filled them up easily and quickly.

Fumpa is a must if you have a disc wheel. For regular wheels, a $40 Amazon Chinese pump will do great.

Old version Fumpa for sure

New version doesn’t fit a disc wheel

I have this version - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QZDYLV5/
It definitely fits my Hed Jet disc - caveat is that the tube’s valve stem needs to be 40mm or less.

The older Craftsman’s are a must for cyclocross, super accurate and portable. You’ll want a different presta end for a disc wheel. This one goes up to 200 PSI

This is not *that *small, but we love it and it can fill my RV tires too. It’s also not presta natively so I’ve linked all the products we use:

Dewalt Compressor, battery powered
Cheaper & even-better-than-Dewalt 20V batteries (amazingly)
Quick-release air chucks so that I can also use the compressor for car tires
Silca Hiro Pump Head (only chose this one because I have to fill a Zipp disc wheel and nothing else fits for one-handed operation… otherwise I’d go with anything cheaper, probably something from specialized)

Well, damn. I’ll buy me a backup unit then. Thanks for pointing this out.
