We now have one of only 2 P4’s in the Northeast. I know there were some questions about frameset weight. Here we have the frame with fork (uncut), seatpost (with the seat mount in the wrong hole, I know), rear brake, headset, waterbottle.
You know that you just opened up a can of worms though. Weight does not matter …blah, blah, blah,. Weight always matters, just ask anyone that has lost a bunch of body weight and bike weight, you can feel the difference, and see the difference on the clock. Cervelo posted info saying how much time you save for every one pound lost on the bike/person on even the slightest uphill rise in the road, and for those that are looking for seconds off their time, weight does matter.
The best I can do here is light some incense sticks and turn on the fan…but that would be pretty ghetto.
LMAO!!! Glad to see someone is keeping it real!
Well, let’s try to work a SWAG backwards to an “equivalent” frame weight.
Fork: ~350g (EC90 Aero is actually 400g)
Headset: ~75g (integrated; cups are heavier)
Rear brake: 155 g (Dura Ace 7800 rear)
Bottle and cage: ~100 g (amazingly, I can’t find the weight of a water bottle anywhere, not even on Weight Weenies)
Seatpost: ~200g (could be a lot worse with many aero posts)
This is my P4 56cm with SRAM Red, FSA carbon crankset, Keo ti pedals, Syntace CS/CX base bar and clipon, and tubular 808’s, with aerodrink. It weighs 16.6 pounds as pictured. Does not have a powermeter as configured.
Sorry I can’t figure out how to import the pictures…rats…
It seems like everyone is just getting there P4s now… Helen’s Cycles has had one in stock for awhile… I took this photo of one there on December 29th. It’s still the only one I’ve ever seen.
