Why Cervelo Testteam didn’t use it yesterday ?

Probably because it is better on a display than on the road

I didn’t see any fat, middle aged, rich triathletes at tour.

I am sure its a great bike if it works for you, but holy hell that thing is ugly…

so why is it these things are not being made in sufficient quantities for dealers to have them or even the test team to be racing on them? They obviously have the mold right? Shouldn’t they be able to produce them? Seems like the TOC would be a really good spot to showcase the new bike.

That’s my booth! You should have introduced yourself as I was there all day.

I was bugging some young guy at the booth re: the P4. Maybe that was you? I had pointed out how the water bottle didn’t snap in too well, but it was mentioned this P4’s bottle holder wasn’t quite dialed in yet.

If he was Asian it was me.

The bike has been shipped a lot of different places so it’s hard to say what the bottle has been through. Somewhere the cap was lost which was the other common question of the day about the P4.

Yes, I remember talking to you.

I don’t get why the P4 is generating more interest than the giant TT bike. Once we start seeing some number for the Giant bike will interest switch?

Beautiful bike. I’m in. Best part is my fit numbers won’t change and I can hang my P3SL on the wall as an “object de art” forever…or just sell that sucker and buy lightweight carbon fiber stuff.

No, because its not a Certwitcho.

They kinda look the same. The Giant has a cleaner cockpit but the P4 has the integrated bottle thing.

I have to say, that P4 has definitely started to grow on me (other than the huge P4 logo), and the Giant is a gorgeous bike. If my “eyeball windtunnel” is correct (which is no guarantee) I would say those bikes are probably a wash in terms of aerodynamics.
If it came down to it, though, I think I would have to go with the Giant. That straight line across the top tube and the headset just looks beautiful.

Yes, that straight line does look great, until you do this to it

And that is a pro’s bike. I cant wait to see what pops up around this place!

I was thinking the same thing.

IMO comparing the P4 to the Giant is an unfair comparison. To make it fair to the Giant you have to compare that Giant to the P3, not the P4.

The P4 is a step ahead from the Giant. Definitely a step ahead.

Eh!?!

Which do you think is more important, a specific water bottle or a far lower drag front end? I’m guessing that when we see numbers, the Giant will blow the P4 out of the water.

NB. the way that you’re shown is the most aero way you can put the bars at that height - far better than using spacers to raise the stem. I’d even go as far as to say that it’s probably more aero to raise the bars all the way up there than to have them in line with the top tube.

I tend to agree with the above statement as well, much cleaner to seperate the aerobars then add spacers, a simple CFD analysis would show that. Just like the P4, the Giant could use a little more color scheme as well to make it more appealing to the general bike buyer.
