Well I am finally returning to racing after a year of only casual training that included 1 small race… but this is totally beside the point.
The Point: I sent my P3C out to RRVelo to be repaired and clear coated. This involved a complete disassembly. While the frame was being re-done (which looks great btw) I lost the cable guide that goes under the bottom bracket. I live in the Los Angeles area so there are a few Cervelo dealers around. Not one of them had the cable guide so I called Cervelo directly. They where very helpful and agreed to send me the guide. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago and I still have yet to receive the cable guide. Does anyone know of an alternative guide or better yet a shop that might have one in stock?
maybe if you order straight from the online store they will ship it sooner…maybe the guy on the phone lost the order or didn’t put it through…who knows? good luck

Thank you for the suggestion. That was the first place I looked. The one on their website is not for the P3C. The one I need looks like this:
That is a stock freaking cable guide. You can get it from any LBS. You think Cervelo re-designed the wheel for a cable guide? 99 cents, tops.
Even if it is used on a few other frames none of the shop around me have one. It certainly isn’t the typical guide that is used on the vast majority of frames, I have a several versions of guides laying around and none of them work on a P3C. Perhaps it isn’t obvious from the picture but the guide use on a P3C is much narrower the a typical guides.
If you don’t mind the change of subject…Why did you have your bike clear coated? Did you have a peeling problem on the stock finish? Or a custom color?

It suffered from a garage accident that resulted in a cracked downtube. After checking out different repair options I narrowed it down to Calfee and RRVelo. Ultimately I went with Edgar at RRVelo who has repaired thousands of carbon frames over the last 15 years. Since he had to respray the downtube anyway I had the rest of the frame resprayed and now it looks like new… except for the lack of downtube lettering.
