I just wonder. Do you ride all in a 78° angle or the 75?
In my case I’m more comfy in the 75°. For those who ride in the 78°, what are the really significant advantages?
Thx!

hello? has anybody got a P3?
I have mine at 78 - it is the common thought that 78 is the only way to go…slacker only for UCI.
Ride what’s most comfy and works for you. I’ve tried every angle possible on my P2K and prefer it steep, but a friend of mine prefers his slack.
I have mine at 78, because that is where I am comfortable. check out slowmans bike set up description, its very informative.

My P3SL was oriented to the 78 degree position and I sat at 81 degrees actual seat tube angle (measured along an imaginary line from the center of the saddle to the center of the bottom bracket.)
I sold my P3SL after completeing the review for our website in the hopes of getting a P3C, which I am still getting. However, we have been selling P3C’s in the smaller sizes (51cm, 54cm) faster than I can actually deliver them although supply is good right now. The 56cm frame is readily available in the P3C in stock now.
As a result of the popularity of the P3C in the smaller (51cm, 54cm) sizes I realized selling my P3SL was a mistake. I’ve had several other nice bikes in the mean time, but none I like as much as my previous P3SL. So, I bought another P3SL from Cervelo for myself (no, it is not for sale) that I am building up next week.
The P3SL is a nice bike. Here’s a photo of the first one I built up for myself and reviewed. I wish I would have never sold it:
78?! Hell, why stop there- 81 degrees baby! Turn the seatpost head forward and slide that saddle as far forward as you can get it. That’s the Slowtwitch way! In my case, it’s needed to accomodate my freakishly short torso in relation to my long legs.
What kind of bars are you putting on your new P3 build up? Heds, Vistiontech, or?

That might be my problem, I have long legs and I am 1.96m…and I ride a 61.
Prolly Visiontech because they are cheap and good. I’d like HEDs though.
foward position, actual angle is 80-81 depending on where you measure too. Just works for me better in time trials. I’ve actually backed down from 84-85 which I rode for a while. Road I’m back in the 73-74 range. Love my P3sl
Hmmm… if you really do have a short torso relative to inseam, a 61cm may be a bit large. I’m 6’0" (1.83m). I ride a 58cm road bike, and a 55cm P3, and I think the P3 may be too big for me. As I mentioned I’m running the seat as far forward as physically possible, and I still need a 90mm stem and Syntace aerobars (pads well behind the centerline of the base bar) to get decent reach. I think a 52cm might have been a better fit.
Yes, I purchased the Hed bars after reading your review…
Realistically, I feel the HED aerobar is the best one piece aerobar currently available with the most intelligent design and the highest degree of tunability.
I hope you’re right (since I currently have it). The Bontrager and Oval A900 is nice too…
Tom…stop it now…stop posting those P3SL pics. Mine just arrived at the LBS, but I won’t have it built and rideable until next week. It is torture just seeing the pics
Tom,
How do you like the Easton EC90 Aero fork vs the standard chord fork vs the P3C Wolf fork? What kind of prices can one expect for the 3?
Hey Tom…are you getting the 53 cm 700 P3SL ?
I currently have mine at 75. I like the 78 but it aggrevates my rotator if I’m in aero position for more than 1hr. I have found that at 75 the bike seems to climb better (or maybe it’s my imagination
Hey Devashish,
Yes, the 53cm 700c, but in the P3C I ordered a 51cm. We’ll see how that works out. We just measured the 56cm, 54cm and 51cm P3C’s in person. Very interesting findings. That was also another reason I ordered another P3SL- it fit me perfectly. I am not convinced I can get my optimal position on a P3C yet.
