P3 DI2 FD Rubbing

I am building a 2017 P3 with full Ultegra DI2. The crank is ultegra also. There is a SRAM BB30/BBright bottom bracket and I have the Wheels Manuf. conversion kit.

Everything is together and seems ok except for one thing. The crank seems to be too close to the front derailer and is rubbing. Its not the L screw limit as this is already backed off fully. I have managed to reduce it slightly by shifting the FD higher up (it seems the lower it goes the closer it gets). FD shifting is ok. It rubs throughout the gears because the FD is trimming as the RD shifts.

I have tried using a couple of shims from the conversion kit to push the crank out slightly but I can’t use too many otherwise there isn’t enough spindle protruding on the other side to fix the non-drive crank too.

Anybody got any ideas?

is your front derailleur in the ‘‘little ring’’ position?

Yes its on the little ring and the chain rubs on the inner chain guide.

is your support bolt positioned properly?

Yep, I didn’t use the little sticky thing as it touches the braze on on clamp and not the frame. The support bolt is on the lightest touch as any more it pushed the cage even further out.

Pictures are probably worth more than 1000 words in this case…from the top and from the back.

One other silly question…are the Wheels conversion kit symmetrical? If not are you sure you have them installed on the correct side?

I’ll take some pictures later. The kit is not symmetrical, I installed the wider one on the drive side which looked correct from the photo. If I had put that the other side the crank out be even closer.
