Overriding 1 hour treadmill time limit?

Is there a way to do it?! I hate having to reset the treadmill after it turns off at the hour mark.

See if you can enter number of calories as the limiter, then put in like 2,000. That’s what I did at my gym to do an 11 mile run (that took over an hour).

Call the maufacturer or have whoever maintains the treadmill call-it may just involve removing a fuse on the circuit board. I had the same issue with my endless pool that came with an auto-switch- off at 30 min. I had my contractor call the company, and they instructed him to remove a specific fuse from one of the circuit boards and now it truly is an endless pool.Sorry I can’t be more specific, but I am sure you can fix this. Can you imagine only being able to swim 30min or run only 1hr ?..THE HUMANITY !!!

Google the TM model and you’ll probably find the manual. On the one I used, there was a password needed, but at the gym, it was still the default.

If this works I’m going to be pissed lol. I’ve changed gyms twice due to them setting them lower. 30 min at my last

Why not just go run outside? It is practically summer after all.
You people who consistently run year round for hours at a time on a treadmill amaze me. I know I don’t have the fortitude to do that…

On some of the Life Fitness models, you have to push, Pause and the Clear button twice to enter the Configuration settings. You have to hold the Pause button down until you see the next menu. Hit the Speed down button twice to go to Configuration Manager settings. Then go to Manager settings; Maxtime and change the number using the speed up or down arrows. Not intuitive but it is in the manual. I have to do it at my gym quite often. On other models, I am unsure about the procedure. But the manual should definitely tell you how. Is it a personal treadmill in your home gym? Or one at your local gym? if it’s your home model, just call the mfr and ask their customer support if all else fails.

It is at my local gym, and it is also a lifetime fitness treadmill. Not sure what model, but I will give that trick a shot. As for running on a treadmill, I do it only once a week when I want a continuous, controlled run. Sometimes running outside, towards the end of my run, I tend to slow down without even noticing. Keeps you honest. Plus, I used to be a rower, so the treadmill is like a treat after having erged for so long.

Its summer…everywhere in the northern hemisphere, go run outside!

Good question. The Y has the TM limited to only 30 minutes.

its 110 outside so ill ride there and get the shorter runs in on the tredmill. Ive done an 18 miler on the tredmill. That was fun

not sure how to do it but since I can’t stand running on the treadmill for more than 1 hour it has never been an issue…

I love to run outside but when it’s 95 degrees F with 70% humidity 24/7/365 like it is here in the Sumatran jungle, sometimes running on the treadmill is a necessity. Anyone is welcome to come workout and get some serious hot weather training if you’d like.

yeah great …you get the gold star for the day…

Lightning storms every day for the past week in Denver.

Treadmills suck, but so does electrocution…and getting an earful from your wife for running in “dangerous conditions”.

OP - I’ve never had a problem calculating how many miles I will run in the limit, then quickly hitting stop and restart and going for another 30,40,60 min’s or whatever. Just like taking a “natural break” on a real run.

No wonder why people think triathletes are selfish.

alright, people need treadmills… I feel for you. I personally really like the simplicity of running …no real tech needed/involved. hope you figure the setting outs. enjoy your summer…

18 miles!!! I get bored to tears after about a mile and a half on the dreadmill. Why not just go run outside in the early morning or late at night when it’s not quite so hot out? That’s what I do. Just involves getting up before the sun does.

Or you can book a daily commuter flight to a more hospitable climate for your runs.

No wonder why people think triathletes are selfish.Possibly his gym is like mine. There are so many treadmills that I’ve never seen them all being used. Thus the one hour time limit does not benefit anybody.
