anyone used this, or have recommendations on other waterproof cases for the ipod mini? for running/biking in rain & snow, not swimming or anything.
leads on a discount would be nice, too, money is definitely tight. i’ve been putting the thing in a ziploc bag and slipping it into a neoprene/plastic “sports” case, which seems to work, but makes me nervous.
I’ve have not used the Otterbox iPod cases, but I have used their case for the PocketPC. Overall, it is pretty much bombproof. It was a little big/bulky, but I mean totally bombproof. Like drive-over-it-with-a-Hummer bombproof. You definitely could swim with it, except it would be like dragging a giant drag buoy…
I have an otterbox for my mini. I used it all the time however it is a bit bulky. Now mainly use if I might get caught in the rain. This thing offers maximum protection.
Just a little info. I have gone through 4 (yes that is right 4) Ipod minis so far. I had the replacement plan from best buy so it cost me nothing. Bu tlet this be a warning to anyone with an IPOD, the hard drive in them arent meant for moving. I talked to a guy at best buy and he told me that is the reason the best buy replacement plan turned into the service plan. It is not designed for running or movement like running. Cycling would be ok but the movement of running causes the hard drive to shake and burn itself out. So be careful. GOOD NEWS THOUGH the ipod nano has a flash memory in ti, so it is perfect for running.
