OT: This things you find on eBay

This has to be one of the strangest that I’ve seen, right up there with granddad’s left. Anyone have other good ones?

Titan II Missile Site
TITAN II MISSILE SITE - Underground launch complex located on the property. The missile silo (located on the right side in the drawing of the complex) was decommissioned by the U.S. Government under the SALT II Agreement, but the command center and blast lock area were left intact. The access area (middle section in the drawing of the complex) was filled with debris. The debris will have to be removed to access the blast door. Other owners of Titan II Missile Sites have removed the debris & gained access to the command center. As you can see from the drawing of the complex, the command center (on the left) is 3 stories. The first level is the living quarters. The second level is the command and control center. The 3rd level (basement) contains all the equipment needed for operation of the command center (a/c, utilities, electrical & mechanical).

last year, a friend sent me an ebay link, Title? “I’ll kick your ass!” The description was great, it explained in detail how about travel arrangements, buyer promises not to fight back, “after all, this is YOUR ass getting kicked, not mine” The funniest part of it was that there were three bids before it got pulled.

It could be legitimate. I know there is an organization called the Defense Re-utilization Management Office (DRMO) that sells off all kinds of crazy things. The University of Notre Dame picked up a locomotive about ten years ago for a few dollars and then they just had to go pick it up. I just want to know how you stumbled upon a Titan II Missile Site listing? Are you looking for a nuclear winter home?

So are you going to bid? Go for it Hid! Maybe we could do a deal similar to Mr. Tibbs bike - if everyone pitched a few thousand bucks, we could pick that bad boy up no sweat;)

I saw that “I will kick your ass” one and I agree that it was pretty funny, especially since the narrative description showed that the “seller” had really thought it out but it is still a distant second to that 18-yr old who was auctioning off her virginity on Yahoo! auctions. I still wonder if that was for real though there was a big uproar about it and the girl fessed up to it. Whether she really had the goods and whether she actually intended to deliver are another matter, I guess.

maybe the “I’ll kick your ass” was posted by her father!

From the site:

“Great investment, lots of potential uses.”

Like what?

Before I bid, I gotta know though, is it still pack’n?
Screw the Coolness Manifesto, with something like that I could just pick up a copy of he Communist Manifesto.

-The coolness manifesto, it’s coming
