OT Justice is served! We won!

I was recently in Small Claims Court for a $3650 suit from an ex-tenant who blamed her health problems and personal safety on a carpet cleaner. She is psycho and drove off her roommate after only five weeks. She then proceeded to harass my wife and I on the phone at work as it was “our fault” the roommate left. A few weeks later we were having the carpets in the back unit steam cleaned and decided to bring over our RV and have the upholstry cleaned as well. Soon we received screaming phone calls from our irate tenant because of the noise (at high noon) and the large RV in “her yard” (it was parked in the back common area). My wife rushed back to pick up the offending vehicle and a verbal cat fight ensued. She then called 911 and claimed that my wife had threatened to KILL HER! Then I got served.

After several trips to court (she didn’t like our first mediator) we decided to take our chances with a judge rather than negotiate and give that b…h even a dime. The suit was totally frivolous and a huge waste of time for us and the system. In trial things didn’t start off well, but then she launched into her psycho babble of how she was recovering from cancer, had passed kidney stones the next day, had a concussion from snowboarding, etc., etc. I suspect the woman is a pro and lives off suing people, you should have seen how well prepared she was.

Usually Landlord-Tenant disputes don’t go in the favor of the landlords as they are seen as mean, money-grubbing bullies out to crush the little people. The judge apparently saw it for what it was and proceeded to dismiss the case and order her to pay us $150 for our court costs. Ha! You should have seen the look of dismay on her face. Priceless.

Great job. It is nice that you can get back some of your costs. People don’t always realize they usually ahve to cover the court costs when they lose.

Good job.
