coolio’s song…based on a Stevie Wonder’s song…anyone knows the title of the SW’s song?? (I think it’s SW…not 100% sure)
Pasttime Paradise - 1976.
very cool on Howard today - too bad Stevie did not remember all the words
.
It’s on volume 1 from Songs in the Key of Life, which is a double album. Terrific song.
I loved playing that song whenever Coolio’s version was big. Most people had no idea about the original.
yep! bummer…can’t find it on itunes (the original one)
It’s there. Do a Power Search for Stevie Wonder and/or “Songs in the Key of Life”, it is number 8 Pastime Paradise. Don’t be put off that it has a release date of 2000…the whole album was just remastered (both the Cd release and iTunes release).
awesome! getting the whole album…
All I can think of is the parody version by Paul Shanklin called Algore Paradise.
Nah, the parody “Amish Paradise” by Weird Al is one of the all-time greats.
It’s just not the same if ya can’t see the video, but here are the lyrics:
Today’s Stern show was probably one of his greatest… I’ve already purchased the CD!

He was rocking on Howard this morning. Pasttime Paradise was my favorite.
Can’t wait to get the scoop on High Pitch during his day at ehehe!

Ah yes… In much the same way that I like to spin Leon Haywood’s “I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You” when someone’s listening to Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But a G Thang”… Or, perhaps, The Isley Brothers’ “Footsteps” when someones playin Ice Cube’s “Today Was A Good Day”
HELL YAH!!! WOOOH!!!

haha. you going to follow Howard over to Sirius?
Already there… I carry my portable (feels like a rock in my bag) on travel. I just upgraded my Shure E3c to E4s and I’m in concert-heaven.
Best decision as far as music is concerned for me. I can listen to classical, Sade, U2, Led Zep (yes, I am a fan), the Jackson 5 (before Michael went crazy) without moving out of my seat on UA.
Oh yahhh… the flight attendants love it too!
