Long story short, I ejected over the bars and broke not only the helmet, but my iliac crest too. Happened last Wednesday (5/19).
I haven’t been able to find too much about this, but everything I’ve read says it’s a stable fracture, nothing really to do but live with it until it heals (2-3 months). So is it cool to keep training and racing? I’ve put in 300 miles on the bike without trouble and a 5 mile run last night pain free (and no additional pain today), so I’m thinking it’s stable, and not a problem, though I want someone who runs/rides to confirm this. Doc says to take it easy, but is this really necessary?
