Ordering shoes from the US?

Have any of you non-US ST’ers ordered running shoes from the US before? and if so, who did you use?

I found www.roadrunnersports.com but was wondering if there are any better ones out there.

Never but if you are in Europe, I wouldn’t order from the states… my advice, find a online store around here.

Any recommendations?

The dollar exchange rate is great at the moment so makes ordering 1/2 pairs really attractive. An example: I wear Nike Zoom elites at the moment - $90 if I order from the states, if I buy here (where I normally buy) $168!. It’s like buying 2 for the price of one.

Never thought of buying shoes online. I like to try them “for a ride” before spending money.

Anyway, even with the exchange rate for the dollar it can turn to be more expensive. If something goes wrong, you have to send the shoes overseas again… pay the shipping… then when it comes again, the custom (sp?) services may apply IVA to it and so on… many things can go wrong and if you are doing this just to save “some” bucks I would consider it well…

ohh… and no. don’t know of any online store cuz as I said, never thought of it…

sorry.

Most runners I know order from roadrunnersports, definetly the biggest online shop I know of. I personally haven’t used them because I am hard to fit. But if you wear a 9 newbalance and always have, or know exactly what shoe fits and they have it. They have a good reputation.

when I lived in the US I bought all shoes from RRunner sports. I wear one of two styles all the time so would just buy them and stock pile at year end, 50% off.

Now do the same in the UK with Wiggle and Chris Brashers? stores. Know what I like, what size so ordering them online is not and has not been a problem. My most recent NB’s from Wiggle were $50 / pair.

You could well end up paying import duty on them, I dont know.
