Orbea Aletta thoughts

I wanted to get a tri bike on a budget and was looking at the Orbea Aletta around $2000 or maybe I might break the bank on the Odu. Thoughts on the Aletta? I was curious on what people thought about speed and quality of the bike and components.

Side not, my Orbea dealer is also a specialized dealer. I went in to look at both but mainly the Orbea. All the owner wanted to talk about was the transition serious and how I had to have carbon over aluminum. It was rather annoying since I wanted to learn about Orbea and had already seen the specialized bikes up close. Why are shops so high on Specialized?

Does anyone have other suggestions that would fit the same price and make up of the Orbea bikes?

Thanks

I dont know about Orbea, but I am not a huge fan of Specialized having worked in a Specialized shop for a year. They make great stuff at their low price points, but their mid range and high end bikes are not as good for the cost as other companies. I have ridden a Orbea road bike once and I know the feel was different than the Specialized in their carbon. That being said I recomend Cervelo P1 or P2 Ultegra.

+1 on the P2SL. Last year’s models are under $1500 if you can find one in your size. With D/A components. Yes, it’s aluminum, but that’s still a great deal.

forgot to mention that I would like a bike that I can find on the rack that not to many others have. so specialized and Cervelo are out. plus Cervelo seems really expensive. I know it’s the best and all that jazz. heck I’ll probably give in and get a cervelo.
Thanks for the suggestion though

Rode one for two seasons. Liked the ride. Compact geometry fit pretty well. Mine was full DA. Traded up for a p2c frame and fork.

I had one about 4 yrs ago and really liked it. super stable, easy to handle. Looking for another one now, which is how I came across your post. (:
