I am sure that this has probably been covered ad nauseam but I can’t find a thread about it without sifting through pages of arguments about research methods.
I am curious to hear from anyone who has used optygen and optygen hp and whether you feel like its worth the extra money. In some of the reviews I’ve seen people mention endurox excel. Feel free to chime in on that or any other suggestions.
I am currently not taking any supplements and am training for IMTX and am looking for something for the peak phase of training.
I would say the HP is worth the extra money. If you’ve never tried it before, then give it a go for IMTX. If you aren’t satisfied, First Endurance will give you a refund, no questions asked. The topic of Optygen has been beaten to death ad nauseam. There are basically three groups of people:
- people who have tried it and swear by it (this is, in my experience, most people who have actually used it)
- people who have tried it and didn’t experience what they felt was any real benefit (this group, among people who’ve actually tried it, is quite small)
- people have never used it but are absolutely convinced it cannot work (this group, at least on this forum, is not particularly large, but it particularly vocal)
In my experience, for whatever that is and is not worth, I’ve found it to be useful. I simply “feel better.” I don’t, of course, believe that it doubled my VO2Max or anything like that - and I’ve brought this up with the guys at First Endurance, because we all believe that the marketing of supplements is rather hyperbolic, but that the ubiquity of such hyperbole has also in many ways made it necessary. No one would buy something that simply made you feel “a bit better,” even though feeling measurably better is worth a whole lot (at least in my opinion).
Anyway…
Short answer - try the HP. If you aren’t satisfied, you WILL get your money back without issue (it’s not one of those scams where they promise to give your money back but it takes 29 phone calls and 37 emails to get it). Best of luck with your training for TX.
I’m in Group 2. I tried it, and I have no idea if it worked or not. Not worth the $ for my MOP self.
My personal experience:
I used it (HP) my final year of collegiate track from January to May. I never felt like I had super powers, but what I did notice was that I was able to recovery much more quickly and more easily. That allowed me to go HARD several times a week without having to take extra days off to get the legs feeling good again.
Would I use it again? Absolutely, it just became a bit expensive for my personal income.
Take aways:
Don’t expect it to make you instantly fast. You still have to put in the work. If you are willing to go hard and are driven, it will allow to be ready day in and day out to perform.
Now if First Endurance wants to hook me up with a little something, I can tell you even more reason to try it!
