Any opinions on these. I’m currently using Profile Aerolites with a Vision Tech base bar. The T2’s look a little tidier. I’ve never found the Aerolites to be as comfy as my old Syntace C2’s but am wondering how you find the T2’s.
Hey, I am wondering too. Been eye-balling those for awile now!
I put a set on in early august and have been very happy with them, took me a little fiddling with them to get all the adjustments right but that can be expected with any new bars. The thing that seemed to take the longest and may be still subject to revision is getting the “S” bend in the right place to choke up on them when needed.
I have seen that FSA/Vision is also bringing some to market which will likely be simpler but not quite as adjustable.
Profile T2’s are the single best product profile has ever produced and may be the best aerobar available.
They are light, well engineered, inexpensive, durable and dependable and can be adjusted but have no weight penalty associated with the adjustablility since you cut the excess material off once the appropriate adjustment is made.
I can’t tell you haow impressed I am with these- they really are the best there is.
I found them too high when using them on a drop bar on a road bike, they mount similar to the Profile Jammer GT’s. I prefer bars that mount under the drop bar, I tried to mount these like that and installed a set of flip-up armrests but the difference in height between the armrests and bar put my wrists at a bad angle. What I ended up doing was using just the extensions on my Oval A900’s on my Lucero and they are great! Now if I can only get them in carbon fibre with the exact same dimenions, I already tried the Bontrager carbon s-bends and the Oval carbon s-bends but they just don’t work! I think the T2’s used with the matching base bar on a tri-specific bike would be fine though.
I’d like the T2’s with a slightly deeper bend and flip-ups…that would be the best bar IMHO!
Remember that the mount can be inverted so the bar is on the bottom and the pad on the top with zero rise:
.
And here I was, about to say that I’m glad Profile has moved away from silliness like flip-up armrests and other stuff that just adds complexity and failure points. To each their own, I guess
I thought they were making the T-2 in carbon??? Maybe they arent out yet!
Wehn you do mount them on top, that is a good reason to to dump all your “spacers”…
Tom- if you mount the T2’s under the base bar as Bjorn has done, do you need to use a riser on the armrest to get it above the base bar if you want to slide it forward such that the front of the armrest is over the base bar? This would be on a Vision base bar.
Damn, where is my aero bottle going to go??? And the seat is to high on that P3C!!!
Hmmm. Does the Profile riser work? It comes with the T2’s in the packaging. It is so nice to see Profile hit a home run with these.
Valid point has been raised. Would I be able to use my Profile Aero bottle on these bars? If I didn’t end a long ride bathed in gatorade it just wouldn’t be the same.
You would be using this bracket:

wow tom, that really sounds incredible coming from a shop owner and important fellow athlete… How would those compare to some oval concepts A710 or A910, both of which are lighter, and mount UNDER the bar (which would be better for roadies)…
I hate that bracket thingy! I will just have to figure another way of lifting that bottle up a bit more when I get my T-2’s…Dammit, I want them in carbon!
It looks like the Hed Carbons

and the Oval Concept A900

are the same thing.
What is the difference besides price?
These T2’s are S-bends!
I’ve got the bracket. Are you saying that I can still use the bottle as long as the bracket is used? It looks like it would be a slightly awkward fit.
I’ve never had a problem with any of my flip-ups in the past, maybe I was just lucky! I bought these for my road bike with the intention of changing out the pads to flip-ups. I like having flip-ups so I can have access to the bar tops but only on my road bike, I have Oval A900’s on my tri bike which is why I say if you want to use these in conjunction with a base bar then they would be fine. If you mount the bars under the base bar you’d need a longer riser and bolts, the ones supplied aren’t long enough. I also don’t like the pads mounted behind the base bars so that’s another negative of these bars in my opinion BUT… I do think they are the best bars that Profile has to offer. I liked the older style Carbon Strykes as well but then they redesigned them.
They will be coming out with a carbon version.

Just a different name but by the sounds of it, a bit lighter and with carbon armrests. For the 20-30 grams of weight difference and $60.00 cheaper the T2’s can not be that bad.
Profile has done a lot better lately but still they are heavier than the competition, more parts but some people like the adjustability of Profile.
Weight vs Function - what is a person to do.
