Opinions on dhb

I’m looking at giving a lot of dhb stuff a shot. Seems worth a shot but I really don’t want to drop well over $100 for a bunch of crap. What are people’s opinions on it? Specifically their higher end stuff and their triathlon line.

I used a few of their items of clothing a few years ago but nothing recently. Their Aeron Pro shorts were pretty good for the price as were some of their roubaix base layers. If I remember correctly there were some socks and gloves that I was less impressed with. More recently I bought a couple of very cheap running tops just as spares but have only used one of them once. They were their most basic tops so I didn’t expect anything fancy but the material just soaked up sweat and held it, becoming very uncomfortable.
So I think it’s a mix. I think they might be fine for shorts, possibly trisuits and other stuff at the higher value end of their range but some of the cheap stuff in the past has not impressed me.

I’ve only tried some of their cheap stuff but actually just ordered their best (and warmest) softshell jacket, the Aeron Full Protection Softshell. I’ll let you know in a couple of days how it is.
For cheap and average prices you can’t beat decathlon if you’re in Europe. Price-quality relationship out of this world.

It’s crap. Well the stuff I bought from them was. Didn’t fit well, poor quality.
Would rather she’ll out for Ale or something and be comfortable

Opposite for me. Aeron Pro and Blok bibs, all well made, well fitted, comfy and druable. Blok jersey was on the shorter side but still OK. Socks good. Base layer tops have lasted several winter seasons.

No complaints all round.

I have only ordered the cheaper DHB stuff. It fits well and is durable. They are the best knicks I have worn. I buy the DHB Flashlight stuff - it makes you more visible to cars.

I prefer them over my pearl izumi and castelli bid shorts
.

I have an Aeron Pro also. It is very comfy, though for me Castelli has a better fit.

A good experience for me. Very happy with their cycling shorts, running tights and a T-shirt or two I believe. Just got a pair of their Aquasphere Kayenne-esque goggles last week, and they’re pretty good other than a bit of weird distortion underwater, but I can live with that for the price. If I were in the market for a new tri-suit, I’d definitely consider them.

Starting the sport as a student DHB wasa great option for me i have gotten:

dhb ASV Windslam Roubaix Long Sleeve Jersey
dhb ASV Roubaix Bib Tight
dhb Professional ASV Merino Thermal Cycle Socks

  • These three are a designed set, keeps me super warm and i have been very pleased with the set, but i also believe ASV and aeron is their higher range

dhb Balaclava

  • Totally fine does the job of keeping my head warm

dhb Merino Long Sleeve Base Layer M_200

  • Actually very impressed by the quality of this product, does not itch!

dhb Long Finger Windproof Cycling Gloves

  • Decent pair of gloves, were cheap and did the job (not winther gloves). Nothing fancy but fine for what you are doing… cycling.

dhb Triple Lens Sunglasses

  • Cheapest stuff you can get on the market almost. Looks crap, but did the job for me (used the yellow lenses as i think many glasses are too dark for me).

My only bad experience:
dhb Vaeon Padded Bib Tight

  • THey were really cheap and my first long bibs. Low quality material, the pad was unimpressive and yeah rarely use them now.

But in general i think they are doing a great job.
Their tri suit got really good remarks on triathlete.com in the annual review!

bib shorts have a good chamois, but the fit isn’t as comfortable as my Castelli. still fine though.

rain jacket is cheap and cheerful. no complaints.

You get what you pay for… but it’s generally good value and not crap.

I’ve used DHB Aeron Pros, Assos S5, Castelli Free, Giordana Carbon-something or other and Pearl Izumi Elite. They Aerons were okay but they were last on that list. The Pearl Izumi’s are my favourite and I can generally get them on sale at prices comparable or better than the others, even the Aerons.

Thanks as I was particularly interested in these. I really wanted to try the polarized ones especially since I love the Aquaspheres I have.

On note for the original question gotta say it looks like maybe dropping some cash for a kit or two seems like a good idea. It’s almost crazy to me that people are comparing this stuff to Castelli given the price difference. To whom you’re compared often speaks as much as anything else.

I have very good experience with DHB, it is not Rapha, but for the price they are very good. I have 2 of their bibs aeron gold and speed, 2 winter long bibs roubiax and thermal flashlight, aeron hybrid softshell jacket. Incredible stuff considering price. I always get their top of the line items, because they are relatively inexpensive in comparison to big names. Very good quality, their stuff is made by cyclists for cyclists, vents are in right places, cuts are great and their stuff fits well. If you are on the budget, you can’t go wrong with their clothing. I still use it in very bad conditions or cx races when I don’t want to destroy my good kits, and it works extremely well.
