I used a pair for about two years. They were o.k. They were certainly much cheaper than what was available at the time. I like the Shimano tri shoe better.
I just picked up a pair of the yellow ones for $60…got a deal on them.
Can’t comment on their performance yet as I don’t yet have a bike to clip them to.
I’ve had a pair for about a year and I’ve been pretty pleased with them. I haven’t had any other triathlon shoes to compare with. The only complaint I have is that it seems that the bolts that hold the cleats (speedplay) in tend to come loose very frequently. I don’t know if its the cleat or the shoe.
I have used a pair for the last 3 seasons. They are comfortable and use them for training, club rides and races. Great value actually. I use Speedplay Zero’s and have never had any problems with bolts loosening.
I’ve used the Lake Tri-shoe since 1999. I like the Lake because it’s designed for Tri use.

I don’t like them due to the way I get on my bike. They are a slipper-type shoe, and I have my shoes already mounted on my bike. I prefer a shoe that opens up wide enough to jam my foot in it much more easily than the slipper allows. That being said, I’ve had Lake Road shoes in the past…they are worth what they cost…which is less than Sidi, for example.
Thanks for all the info everyone.
They have a sock type liner that makes them very comfortable, very easy to get into, wide toe box, My brother and I race in them and both love them.
$60 seems like an incredible deal…did u get them online?
A friend of mine works at a LBS and he bought a pair from Lake directly as part of a store order and got them at cost…they were a little too small for him but they fit me fine so he let me have them for $60.
Sweeeeet.
