One-stop-shopping for a core/strength/mobility program

Hi everyone, has anyone found a “one-stop-shopping” program (website/app/dvds) for strength, core, mobility, injury prevention, stretching? Something aimed for triathletes? My background is female Ironman triathlete trying to do #5 at age 52 in 2022. Currently trying to get over plantar fasciitis. I’ve always done a hodgepodge of strength and core work (more in the off season and consistent in the training season) but nothing put together by a professional strength coach. Dynamic Runner app looks interesting as well as ROM coach. Any recommendations? I’d like to do a better job keeping this old body running. I’m even open to some yoga.

Looking to add more upper body mobility for swimming (my weakest of the three sports - very late stiff adult onset swimmer)

Better strength work for feet (first time with PF even with a marathon background and don’t want this again)

Maybe something aimed at the 50 plus triathlete?

Injury prevention - probably the most important

Rather than getting a generic plan for triathletes, get a custom plan to address any issues/weakness.

Go to a reputable Physical Therapist, get an assessment.
The PT should give you exercises you can do at home.
You can modify the exercises as you progress by adding reps and/or weight.
Consider going back to the PT after 4-6 months and reassess.

It’s not that easy. I live off-grid in a pretty remote rural area. It’s a project to get to a PT. It’s the trade-off for living where we love. So that is why I posted this query. If I could do what you suggested, I wouldn’t need to be looking for recommendations on ST

Plus I’ve never really found PTs to be awesome for me when I did live in suburbia.

My recommendation would be Erin Carson at EC FIT. She has many options for programming via an app and YouTube. There are programs for all phases of training and she has even worked with Dr Sims to develop two programs for peri/post menopausal women. I have done many workouts with her that focus on exactly what you describe below - increase mobility, injury prevention, and building. If you send her an email, she will help you select the best plan to meet your needs.

My programs for strength & core. Endurance Sport Lifting Templates

calebburgessdpt@gmail.com for specific mobility / ROM and strength in those ROM’s. Caleb Burgess on Instagram. Can’t miss him. I send all my clients to him for remote PT. Excellent programming for rehab, and I expect the same for ROM.

Dave Scott has some great exercises/strength/mobility very specific to triathletes. Great shoulder strength and mobility exercises. I am a 60+ female triathlete and I think all of his information is great. He has some good videos and descriptions in his “video vault” check out his website davescottinc.com.

Dave Scott is amazing! I took a peak and think the video vault went away, unless it’s only available to his clients.

Most of Dave’s videos are on YouTube too.

I have been trying out an 80/20 strength program that is good for home training, runs through training peaks. I also have a discount code somewhere if you want it. Just DM.

$120 for copypasta templates? How do you justify that cost when a google search gives hundreds of templates all basically saying the same thing. Wouldn’t take more than 20 min to get a consensus on how it’s usually done. Sorry if I’m coming across rude, I just cant imagine there’s anything groundbreaking in here that makes it worth such a steep cost.

You can join his tri club to get access but he hasn’t updated videos since may:( it’s a pretty good value @ 37.00 a month. Or he has some great stuff on YouTube as well!

Haha I appreciate the sentiment. Reason for the price:
Advanced customization and user-input feedback-adaptation loop within the behind the scenes which write the programming as you go, much like an app should do (though I’m unaware of many good options here yet).

You tell the spreadsheet how the lifting went, and it customizes your training like a coach would, moving forward.

It alters volume, reps in reserve, and load used, based on user feedback every step of the way. If you’re sore, you get recommended to do exactly how much less to do, and in what way, and your feedback compounds as the program proceeds.

The sheet populates YouTube videos with detailed instructions and critiques for every movement.

The sheet allows users to select from similar movements (also with videos), that target a similar purpose. It’s very much customized at every level.
I think a better question would be: why the heck didn’t we make this into an app instead of a spreadsheet?

The answer: I can’t (yet) code apps. I can code in excel. Foolish, I know. I’m working on changing that

PS. I actually have all my endurance athletes use these spreadsheets for training because I realized that I could write algorithms that would do a better job than I could as a coach, when it comes to modifying lifting phases in response to training feedback. I would argue that any coach that can’t do this, is probably intellectually inconsistent and haphazard with regard to the way they approach training athletes. It was during a thorough investigation of why I did what I did as a coach, that I realized it can all be done via algorithm. This is not to say that psychological considerations and relationship are not important, but that if one’s training adaptation and modification methodology are not consistent, as a coach, it probably highlights either a lack of intellectual consistency or a lack of complete thought regarding all things that underpin various training modifications.

I can easily do a youtube/ google search as well

Looking for what you or others have used and recommend. If you have done this program yourself and feel it’s good for what I outlined above, than thanks

I second Erin Carson ECfit programs. I am a 54 y/old Female who has become increasingly injury prone the last few years! I really like Erin’s mobility Monday videos on YouTube. She combines strength/stretching and injury prevention in one. She also has weight training videos and she seems very focused on injury prevention. I have had PF in the past and had to do all the things… rest, ice, stretch and wear the foot splint thing at night. After I healed it I never got it again. But it took time and patience. I agree with you that this mobility stuff seems really important as we age. Since I started the EC fit videos I feel like I am running better with fewer niggles. Good Luck!!

Ecfit easy thorough well thought through and they work.

Thanks for posting! I now have an EC strength program loaded in Training Peaks.

Do you use resistance bands instead of a cable machine if at home? I have to do all training at home.

I use bands, I do all the training at home also. Hope you like it!

For a self “one-stop shop” I appreciated the Strength Training for Triathletes book - and built my own periodized plan based off how it walked me through creating a custom program using its framework. Basic templates are also provided.
