On stem/behind bottle bike computer mount

anybody have this setup with computer mounted behind bottle on stem? Do you like it? It seems like I would have to crane my neck to see the display, no?

In my opinion it’s a bit crap!! If you are using your computer for pacing by power or whatever you need it as close to your eye line as possible. I have my bottle a bit further back now and my garmin up front closer to my hands, come questo…

Yeah. I want my bike computer in view. I have the profile design fc25 which is fine but takes up all space between aero bars. I can mount computer on that but I have a stages power meter and need to test that setup to make sure I don’t have any communication issues between bike computer and power meter. I could go back to profile design aerodrink and have more room to mount my computer. I’ll just have to try some different setups.

what mount are you using?

Personally I like it on the actual aero bottle cage so it’s more visible.

what mount are you using?

This.

So I can have the bike computer mounted out front. Others have pointed out an aero penalty with computer mount up high like this but I have a lot of training to do to get to the point that I should be worried about the few seconds I’m losing due to that. I only recently got my stages power meter and have only ridden on indoor trainer with it. I just need to get out and test it out. I have a polar m450. So I’m using that on the bike. I wear my garmin 920xt all through the race.

Mounting one there was the first step towards not using one at all. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

What are you using for the computer mount?

It’s the Barfly TT
.

I had this problem as I switched in a shorter stem and with the angle I couldn’t see my Garmin at all. I ended up just mounting right over where the stem and aerobar attach with the same Garmin mount and can see it just fine. I still have plenty of room out front for my aero water bottle.

I’ll just have to test out some different options. I’m considering maybe testing out mounting it off the left side of my left aero bar and see how that works out. I’m sure there’s an aero penalty there but again I have bigger things to worry about.
