Tilda MÃ¥nsson is the Swedish representative in the womens race. Source: https://www.svensktriathlon.org/ovriga-sidor/nyheter/nyheter/2024-05-30-tilda-mansson-representerar-sverige-i-os-i-paris

Excellent idea. For NED, Klamer and Murray were (unsurprisingly) joined by Kingma and Kolkman. And BEL have nominated van Riel, Geens and Vermeylen in addition to Michel.
(to find info from national language websites, I google the names of at least two “suspects” using google’s “last 24 hours” functionality)

How about: 51 World Ranking Africa. Pending
(New Flag)
Generally, may I suggest people don’t quote Sheridan’s long long long post (and that @pk edits his), for the sake of readability. And just offer addl info.

Out of the remaining countries to declare:

Australian women - who knows and can’t find a date so deadline is 10th June
Austria - hard to look past Hauser/Perterer can’t find a date
Canada - probably Mislawchuk no date found
GBR - selection 4th June, athletes informed 6th June declared public 10th June
Italy - declaring 8th June
New Zealand - probably Reid/Thorpe/Van de Kaay 10th June
Poland - Slupek? 8th June
Spain 6th June
Switzerland 1 male unallocated probably waiting to see if Westermann is fit. If not Studer. No date found

Can you add a list of highest ranked athletes left out? Would be interesting to keep track of snubs or people who just compete for countries with a lot of depth

USA’s official and public knowledge.
Seth, Taylor, Kirsten

USA Women - Knibb, Spivey and Kasper
USA Men - Pearson and Rider
.

Rider over Matt Mac the only questionable decision there, but I get it.

They made a mistake not taking Gwen. Gwen is a wild card, if she can swim/bike with the group she could easily win Gold.

Remind us when Gwen last swim/biked with the group

She hasn’t shown the ability to swim or bike with the group in a WTCS race. That’s not going to change in two months.

The only reason to take Gwen is if you think there is a significant chance the race is a duathlon.

I really thought they would go with Katie in the end, but great for Kirsten, she certainly deserved and earned the pick…

And Seth would have been my choice, well it was my choice before it was theirs… (-; I believe he will keep the relay in contention enough for Spivey to bring it all back together. No doubt he is doing 400’s on the track as we speak…

He was doing 1:00 strides a few days ago.
I don’t think he was making it all the way to 400 meters, but close enough.
He’s at altitude now.

Seth is a great athlete. (and person)
As are Matt, Kevin, Darr, Chase, and John.

That’s great to hear, of all the folks on the team, he surely has the most pressure to deliver on that MTR. He knows as everyone does that he is the weak link there, and it all comes down to a mile run. Of course he has to be there at T2 with the bunch, but he has shown that is a distinct possibility with his strengths…

And good thing about the relay, you only have a small group to race against, not like the total scrums of the actual Individual event…I think he will do fine and we will still have our shot after leg 1…

Is this pink?

Seth would not have been my choice, but he knows that the relay is 100% where his attention needs to be and I think he’ll do great.

Kasper is a good choice. I too thought it would be KZ but this isn’t a bad option.
