Oldest piece of current training clothing or tech gear?

I have to say I have a Pearl Izumi hat with a draw string to open the top to ventilate. I also have OLD Sugoi killer jacket and CWX tights tights.

love the topic.

I have still have cold weather gear I wear when it’s really cold from 2001. Wore those bits of clothing everyday last week with the frigid temps.

Some swim gear from the late '90’s for sure.

I have - and still run in - my BackOnMyFeet 20in24 Ultra tech tees from 2008, 2009, and 2010 (they killed it in 2011)

Do fridge magnets count?

I have a wetsuit that my father gave me and which he bought from a friend around 1986-87. I think it’s made of stitched-together beaver skins.

I have a Hind balaclava that is from somewhere in the 1990’s. Still use it. It’s held up amazing well.

I donated our two to my “local” fitter up in Waitsfield, VT to keep his CTs running.

I just cleared out a Mizuno base layer that was 17 years old. The smell was finally overpowering despite laundry.

Think that probably makes my oldest current piece a New Balance wind blocker top from 2009.

I am officially a geezer, I guess. Almost everything I have qualifies.

Northface down coat, 1987. Looks kinda like George Costanza’s puffy coat, wear only when it gets subzero F.

1990 Raleigh Eclipse hybrid bike, refurbished with Shimano 105, as my touring bike.

1992 Trek 850 Antelope mtn bike. Refurbished for my gravel bike.

1996 Bianchi EL-OS with Campy 8sp. Such a sweet ride.

1998 Litespeed Tachyon with 650c wheels. Got it towards the end of the 650c tri-bike fad.

Performance brand neoprene booties and thermal long sleeve jersey from 1998, still wearing. Sometimes house brand stuff is good.

Mid 1970s Schwinn Stingray 5sp with stick shift - my first foray into cycling before I knew it was a thing. One of these days I’m gonna get the frame repainted cherry red and restore it.

My club singlet (with saltire) which I ran in in the first London Marathon (1981) is still in service for training runs: made of that new synthetic fabric.
[Checks: yes, in bag, ready to go]
Brooks Competition seat stamped 1976: for seriously long rides.

All I can say is that, everything I have of training gear, that is more than 10 years old (and still looking almost like new) has a Swoosh on it.
Quite amazing quite frankly.

Those stick shifts eventually got “banned” as kids were getting impaled on them while pretending to be Evel Kneivel (allegedly)

I would pay good money to re-own my Pea Picker Krate (the green one - even a replica would do)

As it is I have this, which I sometimes ride for short errands during good weather

I have a set of Scott Tinley lace locks on my shoes. Not sure which is older, the shoes or the lace locks.

I have a Performance shorty wetsuit that I thought I would wear for the SOS triathlon in New Paltz NY, sadly it was never used for the race but will try to use it for bodyboarding. Getting the Performance and Bike Nashbar catalogs was fun.

I have a pair of Sporthill XC pants that I wear for cross country skiing. They are old enough that the label says “KOCH XC”. Think I bought them from LL Bean in the 80’s?

Those Sporthill pants are undefeated.

I regret never buying a pair when I worked in specialty run.
