Older generation Scicon bike bag - not compatible with through axle?

I am leaving for a trip in a few days and just went to get a head start on packing my new road bike (which is a through axle release) in my older generation Scicon case, which I think is called the Aerocomfort 2 TSA. Haven’t travelled with a bike in 3 years and have only taken my TT bike in this case which has a standard quick release. I’m guessing that this older case is not compatible at all with through axle. Does anyone know if there is an adapter piece you can get to accommodate a thru-axle? May have to just borrow a bike bag from a friend.

Thanks!

Ran into the exact same problem a couple months back. I have yet to find a solution.

I’ve got two of those but no thru axle bikes so cant be of too much help, but in thinking of solutions I wonder if you could just daisy chain a couple of strong zipties together and kind of loop them around to secure it to the axle mount? Like maybe 3 total loops that would keep it tight to that area?

Thanks a lot, this might work although i suppose the zip tie could possibly snap en route then the frame may get damaged? Anyway problem now solved for this trip as my friend just said I could borrow his biknd case

I wonder if there is a replacement part available for the front and rear mounts that could convert the bag to being compatible with thru axle. The front mount seems easy to remove but maybe not the back.

Not sure posting link to WW is an issue since this is tech info and not sales. A couple of options are presented: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=162146

Thank you. My wife is in another state and is about to run into this problem for the first time the day after tomorrow, and doesn’t know it yet. Very timely post.

Super helpful, thanks. I will look into this and maybe get my LBS to help with this project.
