Old Footage 1990 ITU Worlds

Currently I am working on a documentary on Karen Smyers for Outdoor life Network entitled Fearless. It is a 1 hour documentary show that features the life and accomplishments of extraordinary athletes and adventurers whom have overcome obstacles and shown tremendous courage in the face of adversity.

We are hoping this production on Karen Smyers will give the viewers a better understanding of the dedication, desire, and sheer will power it takes to finish a triathlon. Let alone doing it while facing tremendous personal and physical obstacles and still managing to be one of the best female tri-athletes of all time.

I was wonder if anyone has any early footage of Karen, Specially the 1990 ITU Worlds in Orlando. ITU and USA triathlon does not have them. Do you know anyone who does? Please let me know. THANKS!

I am not sure, but on the weekend, ex Team Canada Pro Sue Schlatter was riding with us. She was either 7th at ITU World’s at Disney in 1990 or Surfer’s Paradise in 1991. She might have something. Contact me at devashish.paul@sympatico.ca and I will send you her email.

I have the 1981 Ironman Wide World of Sports tape. Don’t think Karen was there though, but the young cast of charcters that are now pushing 50 and above is pretty funny to watch…I’m looking for 1983 USTS San Diego, loaned my copy to someone that lost it. WIll consider all trades…Monty

Off topic, but I love the Fearless Series. I could watch those documentaries for hours and hours.
