I’m on a size medium QR Lucero. I’ve been working on tweaking my position. Not quite “Bjornlike” but having had 2 lumbar surgeries, I doubt I’ll ever get that low. This will be my steed for IMFL. Debating on racing with Hed Disc rear and Hed 3 front or Hed Alps front and back.
Actually a leather sofa with recliners at each end. Yea, I’m not crazy about the pine either but it is a secondary room and the armoire is paid for so it serves the purpose.
When’s the gun show start? My gosh…I know who NOT to mess with on ST now. Holy pythons. I hope you don’t get angry at races…don’t read that article in Triathlete, doesn’t apply to you! ;o)
Looks like you suffer from short leg/long torso syndrome. Me thinkie that you need a longer top tube to get that back flatter and stretch the back out (the angles look good). Perhaps maxed out the adjustments on that frame. What is your ESTA and how long of stem is on there?
If you have a H3/Disc, ride that…and make sure you wear a tighter top.
I also have a bad back. While not more aero – if you want to relieve pressure on your back - raise your hands on the aerobars – so your elbows are more at a 90 degree angle.
I would also slide the seat back a bit.
Check your cleat position too – hard to see but your cleat might be a little to far back on your foot.
nice get up… as for position; seems like the front of the bike is a wee bit lower compared to the rear. the trainer must elevate it, just higher from front end. body position looks okey considering your lumbar surgeries. you really do have big guns. however, your left supraspinatus looks off. i’m not a doc or anything, but have ya ever been told you might have impingement syndrome?
Herptologist? H’mmm, Merriam Webster doesn’t define this one. I’m pretty well educated but this one has me stumped. I can only imagine though coming from TT’s mind. Enlighten me. Thanks.
Don’t take anything I say too seriously. I have no expertise other than that distilled from my own experience. Careless distillation has been known to cause blindness…
At first blush, I’d say that frame is too small for you. I can’t tell what the stem length is, but it looks like maybe a 110, which means you can’t go that much further there. I think you need a bike with a fairly long top tube. I’m sure others have some recommendations about this. From where you are right now, I would bet that each centimeter you lower the bars will bring you huge aero gains. It’s just a question of what you can bear.
TT, thanks for the clarification. I’m disappointed with the online Merriam Webster dictionary for not knowing that. Heck, I should’ve known that since I live in Florida. I used to wrestle alligators before I took up triathlon. I agree though, it was very funny and still is. Yea, you used to give me a hard time on here when you first started twitching. I remember that
