Tell me about the race, the town, where you stayed, good places to eat, etc. I’m going to make a decision before this thing fills up.
What is your decision criteria? time of year, the bike, the run, the type of hotel, the cost, extra curricular activities, etc. etc. etc. Maybe list a few and prioritize them otherwise:
The swim is in a clear lake, the bike is a 2-loop course with some challenging hills but nothing serious, the run is an out-and back 2 loop course with a gradual long slope. The town is small with some character but it has everything you need - lots of hotels in all price ranges and lots of little restaurants so depending on what you like to eat you’ll find it there. If you’re flying in then you have to fly into Spokane WA and rent a car for the 1 hour drive to Couer d’Alene. You’ll need a car in CDA. High reviews from anyone I’ve ever talked to that has done the race. I think it’s a good newbie race but it is an expensive venture.
If you like garlic, the White House in Post Falls is your place. Mediterranean food- used to think it was Greek, turns out the owner is Turkish. If you don’t like garlic, you want to stay at least 800M from the restaurant.
And there’s a new Asian restaurant downtown right across from the swim start that looks promising.
Cedars (the floating restaurant) is always good, as is the Beachhouse.
