Oh, the humanity! Oscars

In a shocking and ludicrous move, surely designed to advance either the worst DEI leftist wokeism, or alternatively the most craven heartless MAGA treachery, new rules have been adopted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences which include the ridiculous requirement for voters to actually watch all the movies in each category to be eligible to cast a vote in the final decision for winners.

Can you imagine? Having to actually watch the movies and performances before you vote on which is best? Poppycock! Hogwash! Foolishness of the highest order!

Mandatory viewing that is not enforced? That should change everything.

But do they have to show up to vote in person?

The practical question is, how are they going to enforce this?

I know a voter for the critics choice award. Back when it was physical screeners, giant stacks of discs that would give him almost no time to do his day job. Now they email you a link and code to stream a screener, but still there’s so many, there’s not enough time to do your paid job to watch all the nominees.

One of my cousins is in SAG; the other is a VP at Amazon Studios

Not sure what their voting status or responsibilities are for various motion picture awards
