S&S Couplers. Absolutely.
Get an abrasive cutting wheel and slice the tubes down the middle. Or hack saw but the abrasive wheel will give you nice white hot sparks!
Find tubing which has an outer diameter that is close to the inner diameter of your tubes. Doesnāt have to Ti obviously.
Cut small sections and slip the tubes in the joint
Drill cross holes through the tubes and bolt them together.
If this gives too much flex then epoxy the tubes in place or wrap a piece of shimstock around the tubing to improve the fit.
Metal Supermarkets sell small quantities of metal
McMaster Carr has the rest of the stuff and may also have the right size tubing.
How many times have you smashed your shin on that thing?
I never have, but my wife has a few times.
While she was handcuffed to the bars around the bed?

Iāve often heard about titaniumās ride qualities, that it offered a much more supple ride than, say, wood. Could you comment on that? And how do you like the integrated headboard compared to, say, an anodized Chris King aftermarket board?
I thought about the S&S coupler solution but that would be about as expensive as buying a new bed. Also, I no longer live close to a titanium welder station that would mean shipping the bed out and back too and that would even more money. Plus these tubes are not standard bike tubes, and thus there might be no S&S couplers that would fit.
Herbert, what is your address? I will have someone over shortly to remove this headache from your house ![]()
