alrighty, lords and ladies, it’s race day. me, i’m wondering how far starky will get out there, and what that does to the lead pack. you all, as an aggregate, favor kienle, with pete jacobs and andreas raelert not far behind. i think you’re selling eneko llanos short.
jordan found feet last week in the 2.4mi swim, and if he can find those same feet today, and come out of the water in 55:xx or faster, that places him not too far behind the leaders, and maybe in front of some uber bikers with which he can ride if/when they find each other. if he rides tactically. will jordan ride his power today or will he let race conditions inform his tactics?
will rinnie find her old form? is there any obvious woman’s favorite? this is the first time in a long time there was no obvious favorite in either race. might be an epic day.
Reading Potts won’t start, that is a shame. He sounded well prepped and psyched on twitter.
I’m gonna back Rappstar for the win. Seems to me that he has been training hard out on the field and this is the first year where Kona has been the goal from the outset. If he can hang with the pack for the swim he is definitely in with a shot.

Wow, too bad, had not heard that. So that throws a monkey wrench into the swim and top 10 picks, he favored in both of those. That means the main swim group is probably going to be a lot bigger than usual and guys like jordan just might make a group they normally would not. Since it is andy that actually sets the pace and eventually snaps the cords, not sure there is anyone else that could do that even if they wanted to. Could be a lead group of 4 to 7 now with the big main pack of 20+…

That may actually favor Rapp, not having an ultra-uber swimmer out there stretching it out. If he can find feet as stated before, he has a good chance to come out of the water in an excellent position.
Judging by his FB pic a couple days ago, his flip turns still need a bit of work, but luckily there are no walls in the ocean
