Official Fit Assistance for Profile Design Bars

No, the A2/A3 brackets are not compatible with clip ons

The official answer would be that any modification to your aerobars voids the warranty and is a risk to your safety.

I don’t officially represent PD and have chopped the excess off in the past.

This is great to see, thanks for sharing. I have a wing 20c+ and am looking for a better extensions setup. Just the reach extenders will already improve my position without having to replace the stem.
I see the ASC pro brackets have a 5mm or 15mm offset, by looking at it it seems that the 15mm covers the same range as the 5mm with additional ± 10mm adjustments, is that correct? Hope that the suggested price goes down too

The asc pro width positions are discrete. The 15mm bracket does the extremes, narrowest (130ish) and widest (200ish). The 5mm bracket does the middle widths (150 and a bit over 170).

There is no overlap in what can be achieved, thus the two brackets.

As for price. Costs from vendors keep rising so its unlikely anything will fall. Can’t make enough of any ASC range products to meet demand so there won’t be much price competition among dealers either.

Any update on the release of:

  1. the ASC-Garmin Mount (hoping it has the ability to put a GoPro mount on the bottom for lights in winter)
  2. the bta bracket (looks like a great opportunity to have wedges that lift the height of the bottle cage mounting point)
  1. Looking through emails I can’t work out whether it’s a Q4 or Q1 release. Should be soon. No ability to mount a gopro underneath as that is where the tilt adjustment sits.
  2. HSA mini is a Q4 release so should ship out to distributors this month. The riser is Q1

Looks like the ASC Garmin mount is available in the USA

And the HSA Mini

The USA gets more frequent shipments than other distributors so new products are often available a bit before formal release.

I saw someone looking for a light BTA setup - HSA Mini with Axis Ultimate cage weighed in at 45g…

I’m looking to get more reach out of my Aeria Ultimate basebar+extensions.

In another thread someone pointed out the following two components, which look like they fit the bill:

The second one is out of stock with PD. Is it discontinued or just temporarily out of stock?

I would like to get these ASAP, potentially for Kona in 2.5 weeks. I’m trying to find a retailer who has both and does express shipping.

It’s not discontinued, it’s a key part of providing continued support to PD riders. I’ll check with the USA distributor.

Plenty of them here in New Zealand, but shipping would be an issue.

Apparently the adaptor is in stock in the USA in low quantities

I think they ship pretty quickly

Ordered! Thank you.

I’m a bit lost in all the PD’s riser systems. I have BMC TM01 (2019 model) which is now on standard BMC risers (I assume, they are neither A2 nor A3) + Aeria Evo bracket. Will the new ASC Pro fit them?

Aeria evo was an update of Aeria 1 to add tilt to bars that were not designed for it. Only Aeria 1 risers will work on your bike.

At this point there is no plan to make an adaptor to fit the ASC Pro to the A1 platform. The spacing is narrow so the armpad width range would suit very few people.

A2 and A3 fit the same. A3 is the same shape as A2 but lighter and cheaper. Adaptors are required for compatibility. The aim was to improve the product while maintaining support for existing bars.

So a BMC Speedmachine is designed for A3 risers but can use A2 risers and bridge without adaptors.

The next generation will need to be completely different (not started yet) but A3 will be supported for many years to come.

Oh, it was very detailed, thank you😊

Is there a possibility to add more tilt to A1 risers than 10° Evo allows?

I’m afraid not.
The Aeria Evo was the maximum that could be achieved for updating the old design without making the bracket system too large.
The PD pad wedges do not fit on PD bars.

Anyone known on the Wing 20c+ integrated bar if its possible yo adjust pad tilt independent of extension tilt.

Finding that with my forearms lying in the race cups that im gripping my extensions wide and low, vesus, if i grip where i want to grip i have pressure on my forearma from the back edge of the pad as the whole pad isnt flush with my forearms as i cant get wnough pad tilt independent of extension.

Hope this makes sense. Lol

There will be a 2.5deg wedge released soon that is intended for this purpose. Fine tuning the angle of the elbow vs the extension.
2.5 is the max that could work with the armrest bolts.
How much of your elbow is hanging off the back of the armrest?

Does that still hold true with the 400mm length (full extended) 52 ASC extensions? I’m assuming a fairly longer length means less angle needed. I definitely need something, but the Tririg angled spacers are too expensive to buy more than one right now. Using three hands to kind of hold the arm pad in place and then measure that angle got me around 10 degrees. Measuring horizontal length, vertical height/rise, then using the known 90 degree angle of that triangle gave me closer to 7.5 degrees when solving for the unknown riser angle. But I suppose that’s making a bit of assumption of where the rise should be measured at though.

Do you think a 10 degree pad spacers is generally what most people using the 400 mm length extensions wind up with?

The ASC extensions stop you from holding low on the grip, so for some people they can feel like a higher natural angle. But having them at full extension lowers the natural angle.
The majority I have fitted are at 15deg.

This is super helpful. Thank you! I’m looking forward to trying to get that figured out on my old Time Machine.

It looks like ASC computer mounts have started to appear in Europe. They are for Garmin, but the mount plate is removable (as I see from the documents).

Is there any chance Wahoo will be supported as well? Or should one go with a custom plate/adapter instead?
