“First of all, he’s right. Normally, you don’t raise taxes in a recession, which is why we haven’t and why we’ve instead cut taxes. So I guess what I’d say to Scott is – his economics are right. You don’t raise taxes in a recession. We haven’t raised taxes in a recession.”
Yikes, down 71 points for the Dow! People are jumping out of windows on Wall Street. Banks are closing. Everyone is selling pencils and apples on the street corners. You really knocked it out the park on this one.
Well, gold is down, but who gives a rat’s ass about that.
To me it shows that he really has no grasp of, or concern for, the impact of what he’s doing to the nation/economy. I think the man is simply over his head. I would hate to think that he doesn’t care if he kills the economy as long as he gets his agenda in.
I’m sure in 10 years I’ll look back and say he wasn’t as bad as I think he is. I did that with Bill Clinton. But Clinton was a bit more competent.
I don’t think you can compare Clinton and Obama. Clinton was an experienced Governor who understood business, understood how to manage an economy and understood that it was too his benefit to move to the middle when he got hammered early on for pushing too far to the left. Obama is no Clinton, and he never will be. I did not vote for Clinton, but would take him back in a mili-second and would even consider backing his wife if she were to run against Obama and be the dem candidate against, say; Bachman.
By the way, is everyone who supports or works for this President a tax cheat or hypocrite when it relates to paying taxes? Will Warren (I want to be taxed more) Buffett allow his company to finally pay their back taxes?
The real question that comes to mind is whether anyone in the LR knows where chainpin lives, so they can check up on him. I’m pretty sure he’s about to burst an aneurysm. I can just see the vein sticking out on his forehead.
Since you and the rest of the middle class have received the largest tax breaks in history under Obama, and his newest plan is going to put even more $$ in your pocket, I’m not exactly sure what you are so unhappy about. But i do appreciate you howling at the moon in outrage over the “extra” taxes those of us in the highest 1% in income have to endure. I’ll make sure your kids get an extra ration of gruel at the slurry plant.
Umm, you guys do realize he is a Democrat right? And he campaigned on this? You can agree or disagree but taxing the rich is nothing new and has been a pretty consistent theme of Democrats for a long time.
Do you really expect him to sign laws that cater to the Republicans?
