How many watts do they save for $330?

Is Oakley out of touch with reality or is it me?

::shrug::

Their top sunglass with the top of the selection for lenses, add the TdF cachet.

Even the regular radarlock path with polarized lenses is $300.

Sign up for the daily e-mails from The Clymb and Left Lane Sports, and they’ll probably show up for $150 or less at one of those flash sale sites in a few months.

Don’t like the price? Don’t buy. Next thing I see will be people bitching about Lambos and Ferraris

Those are the Tour de France Limited Edition’s and they come with two lenses, one being the polarized red iridium that are shown which are also a premium over the normal. Not saying it justifies the price, but for Oakley, it’s to be expected now.

alibaba knockoffs will prob be ready in a few months for $50 and you’ll hardly know the difference

they do look nice though.

Its you!

To me they seem cheap compared to my Pit Boss 2.

you know what the other lens is? Also these are by far not the most expensive Oakleys

iI am aware they are not the most expensive Oakleys, it appears I am in the minority here. My point was that it seems crazy that people are willing to pay these prices for sunglasses. $600 for pitboss? granted there are a ton of 1% cyclists and I get that. They will pay those prices for anything and everything in the sport. Personally I don’t get it. Sunglasses seem like the least important aspect of gear in a sport where almost everything is overpriced. My criteria for sunglasses is pretty small; Do they fit, do they cover the correct amount of my face/eyes, Can I see out of them in all positions, hoods, drops, aero, Are they priced at a point where if and when I scratch them I won’t be pissed at myself for it. It’s the last one that gets me with glasses priced like this. Are they super scratch resistant? I see the are iridium coated and maybe to glasses aficionados that means a lot more than it does to me… All I know is that I have plenty of friends with other “cheap” oakley models ($200-$300) and they are scratched to hell and they won’t buy new ones because of the cost. I personally use Tifosi’s because they meet the above criteria. I would ask for a little more facial coverage (probably a Smith Pivlock would be ideal) but alas I refuse to pay even $160 for a pair of shades. Again, I get that some of the people reading this don’t concern themselves with cost/benefit. It’s the same question I ask when my wife asks for a Coach bag for a present. I ask why does this bag, that looks so similarly to so many other bags, command a price tag that is 10 times as much…and it boils down to branding. And branding is something that I don’t generally like to pay extra for. Especially when benefits of the product are so miniscule that I can’t see the value in it. To those who don’t need concern themselves with value/cost I have no issue, I wish I had the cash to spend :slight_smile: If there is a value to the glasses like the pit boss or others that I simply do not understand feel free to let me know (not being facetious) … that is all

I wear radar-locks, I have a prescription insert in one of my inserts.

I’ve had them a year an half and literally wear them for every ride, and every run. I don’t regret the money spent as they have been really good at staying in place and take abuse pretty well.

i have invested way to much $$$ in Oakleys thats for sure but they are like crack to me. I didnt buy any until I kept a fake pair for years until they were stolen, they are good sunglasses and fit my head/face really well. Only once have they every come off my head and that was a head on collision at home plate. My wife had the terrible walmart/target sunglasses forever then I bought her some Oakleys and she said her vision was so much better out of them. Guess I have drank to much of the koolaid :slight_smile:

You are absolutely right! That’s crazy.
But I’ve heard there are People who pay a lot of money to jump into a cold and muddy lake on a rainy sunday morning, ride their bike against cheating drafters and then run with the risk of getting blisters and all they receive for their effort is a lousy cheap medal and an ugly t-shirt … how crazy is this?
If they just like running, biking or swimming they could do this for free everyday wherever they like.
