NYC Triathletes -- Midtown Manhattan Pools

Anyone know of a midtown pool an out of town triathlete might use for a daily fee? I found out I have to spend 4 days in NYC over the next 2 weeks and am looking not to curtail my swim training for IMLP just because of business travel.

For reference, I will be staying in a hotel on E 39th (near Lex and 39th).

Thanks much for any information.

The Y on 47th Street between 2nd and 3rd has two 25 yard pools. I don’t know, but would think that they would be happy to take your money on a daily basis. Also, check out Asphalt Green which is a much nicer facility.

Asphalt Green (http://www.asphaltgreen.org/) is not in midtown. It’s at 90th st. and York Ave., at the FDR, but it’s a great pool that I think has a daily fee and it’s only a cab ride away from your hotel. Enjoy.

Manhattan Plaza Health Club has a nice 25 yard pool with a glass roof for real sunlight. It’s on 43rd between 9 and 10th aves. I swam there for year.

It’s been posted twice already but I’ll pile on: Asphalt Green has a great, fast pool. Several times a week they remove a divider and it’s a long course pool! It has a daily fee around $20-25. Kind of spartan locker room. Bring your own lock and towel. Have fun.

If you or your company belongs to a club with reciprocal privileges with the New York Athletic Club, their facility along the southern border of Central Park is very convenient. The pool is 25 yards and not very crowded in my experience. The locker room is nice and is convenient to running in Central Park. It is essentially across the street from SBR multisport to whom you can ship your bike to go riding in Central Park as well. This has been my modus operandi when travelling to New York.

I am not familiar with this pool? Can you give me more information? It is not listed on the New York Sports Club Website either. Are you sure it is NYSC?
