I’ve gone in to watch the NYC marathon a few times. Every year I see cyclists coming through riding the course before the runners arrive. Does anyone have any info about this ride?
Raced there twice and I’ve never heard of this. I’m sure they just jumped on the roads there because they were closed. Try it and see if they kick you off.
there are cyclists that go with the Handcycling athletes in advance - is that what you are referring to?
There’s a group that does this in Los Angeles. They start somewhere after midnight when the barricades are going up.
Totally guerrilla underground stuff.
Then, the city got pissed and made them get permits and such. Then, they wouldn’t let them do it.
Check with a local critical mass type group or even messengers or some other underground group in the area.
This will not be organized by the local bike coalition.
