Anyone else have this in their plan?
I entered the lottery a year ago, figuring I’d get to do it by 2007. They have a policy that if you enter the lottery for three consecutive years and don’t get in, they let you in for the fourth year.
Since I had just completed my first marathon in January '04, I thought this would give me a year, two, or three to become a better runner. It turns out, I got in in 2004. Trained; ran it; loved it. My performance was pretty weak, but the experience of running with 37,000 in front of crowds of 2.5 million is AWESOME!
I’d like to do it again, but probably not for a few more years.
