Nuun Electrolyte Tablet- HELP!

I’ve read a lot of good things about the Nuun tablets and they have be touted by many top triathletes. I hate the sweet taste of sports drinks and I thought Nuun mixed in my water bottle was the perfect solution…no more sweet sports drinks! Then, I noticed that Nuun contains sorbitol which I have problems digesting!!!

So, is Nuun the only electrolyte tablet available or is it just the best marketed electrolyte tablet? Can anyone recommend an electrolyte tablet that doesn’t contain sorbitol or artificial sweetners? Thanks!!!

Maybe “MotorTabs”. Spencer Smith is sponsored by them.

Isostar do electrolyte tablets not sure if they are sorbitol free though.

Not sure what exactly you’re looking for- electrolytes or calories. Nuun doesn’t replace sports drinks from a calorie/carb perspective. If you’re looking for electrolytes without sorbitol, just use some form of salt tablet like Succeed. If you’re looking for something that has the carbs/calories of sports drinks without the sweetness, Nuun isn’t it.

My understanding is that Nuun provides only electrolytes which allows you to take in your calorie/carbs through means other than a sports drink. My intention was to use Nuun/water for my hydration and electrolyte needs and monitor my calories/carbs through energy bars. The problem is with the sorbitol in Nuun and artificial sweetners in others such as MotorTabs. From my understanding, I may be wrong, but regular salt tabs will not replace all your electrolytes?

So, I guess I’m looking for a “natural” electrolyte tablet…

OK, that makes sense, but still sounds more complicated that I’d prefer. Trying to mix tablets/bottles on the fly in a long race sounds more complicated than just carrying water, eating gels/bars for carbs, and taking salt tabs as needed. I’m not sure what “all electrolytes” means, but I think that the two primary ones to be concerned about (sodium and potassium) are present in all salt tabs intended for race supplementation, including Succeed:

You might want to try ZYM. I picked it up at the Chicago Marathon. I didn’t use it till after the run but I’m really liking it. It def. has a better taste. This one is formulated for 16oz. It has all of the electrolytes and B and C vitamins. It’s good. No sorbitol. gozym.com
