I’d like to improve my diet and was looking for book recommendations. I’m not really looking for scientific books but more recipe type books. I’m not a vegetarian but would certainly be interested to include more vegetarian meals. Trying to filter through amazon is almost impossible, any help is appreciated!
If you’re looking for recipies, i would check out “Eating for Life” by Bill Phillips. Bill used to be the CEO of EAS (Engineered and Applies Sciences) and Editor in Chief of Muscle Media magazine. Most of the info and meals are catored towards weight lifters and bodybuilders, but it gives you a good idea of what healthy eating is and you can modify the meals to include more carbs and a little more fat as necessary for an endurance athlete. But the key in my opinion is eating 5-6 times a day, and it doesn’t always have to be whole meals. Your body can only digest a certain amount of nutrients at one time (everyone is different) and you avoid that full, sluggish feeling after eating a large meal. Plus when you eat every 2-4 hours you end up never being hungry enough to crave junk food which is a huge side effect. I usually drink a meal replacement powder for breakfast (Met-Rx or Myoplex-Lite are examples) with a banana. I eat lunch and dinner and then i have a mid morning and mid afternoon “snack” such as yogurt and fruit or something like that.
Hope this helps,

Please do post a link. I think a large percentage of the board would be as interested as I am to learn & share ideas/recipies.
