OK, I seem to remember a discussion about Lori Bowden’s cover photo on Triathlete. One word: Smokin.
How did I miss that discussion??? Duy.
And, semi related, she and Peter Reid are seperated? Divorced? Um, not to be indelicate, but, what happened?

If you think that is bad, there was an article a couple of weeks ago that was a thorough comparison of Shimano and Campy. I missed it and can’t find it anywhere.
Missing in Florida,

I have to admit responsiblity for the whole mess. You see, I rented a corner suite with lanai at the King Kam for IMH '03. Lori came over “just to talk.” She needed to clear her head. I made her one of those blue drinks with an orange umbrella–or was it an orange drink with blue umbrella? Anyway, one thing lead to another and…
Brett
…Anyway…
Are they divorced? Seperated? Any thoughts on what happened? I know it basically amounts ot idle gossip, but it does interest me since they seemed like a good couple. Based on the admittedly packaged impression presented to me by the media Lori seems like a nice person from a good family and Peter seems like a hard worker and a stand-up guy.
It makes you wonder, if they can’t get it together- who can?
Thoughts?

I like the little pic on page 6 better. She definitely cleans up well.
Way old news and discussed in October. Separated for a while. Officially divorced? Not sure.
What happened? Only they know, but probably like other couples in the same profession (and in the media) who are both on top or one up/one down, it has to be difficult.
In person Lori B is just so-so…she still has that helen hunt huge forehead thing going for her. At Kona this year, my fiancee and I both decided that the ultimate pro tri-babe is Amanda Gillam. Now SHE is a hottie. No wnder her bf Lovato raced so well everywhere this year. He wants to look like a stud to her!
I saw Lori B. in Kona last year, too. My jaw dropped - she’s muscle & sinew & bone and nothing else. Unbelievable… I don’t know how long it took her to straighten her hair, though, for that picture… I bet she finished IM in less time!

Amanda’s a cutie. Next time I see her, I’ll tell her she won your informal contest. I had a friendly little running rivalry going with her for a while.
Yeah, I first saw Michael Lovato in Coeur d’Alene at the inaugural IM and my wife promptly put him in the “yeeoww” category (personally I don’t care for the ponytail but my opinion doesn’t count, and it doesn’t appear to slow him down too much). Then at Xterra we saw him and Amanda walking around (probably the hottest looking pro triathlete couple in awhile) and talked to them around the pool (I thought my wife was going to grab him as he walked by). They turned out to be really personable and friendly. Amanda Gillam cracked us up with tales from the making of the infamous Troy Jacobsen spinerval video with her in the front row (Janet Jackson’s nothing compared to Amanda and her sweaty jersey in that video). One thing’s for sure – Troy knows what sells spinerval videos, and it ain’t the wonderful sound of his voice exhorting you to get that cadence to 120…
BTW guys, its Gilliam.
Um. No it ain’t! It’s GILLAM.
The link to this little article that Shawn_1 posted pretty much says it all in the last two paragraphs and makes me somewhat ashamed for even putting this thread up to begin with.
Like I said, I was out of the loop here for a while…
